I know who the guy is but don’t remember hearing that he’d raped someone. He’s definitely not done any time.

I'm not following this is he the proof, having seen these messages, that the messages had then been, allegedly, deleted ?

In all seriousness, is Dalkeith a wild place?

Every single character from within the story is a junkie or schizophrenic or drug dealer or wanders into the woods to * into jonnies.

That sounds really patronising/flippant, not intentional. Genuinely interested in what the place is like, in my head it’s just a quiet wee town you drive through.

Haha I know what you mean.

Just like any place it has its good and bad parts. Dalkeith is the name given to the area but there’s lots of different villages and towns within it. Me and my mates got a laugh at the documentary talking about how it was a lovely place whilst they drove through eskbank which is the nicest part of the whole area.

Just like anywhere else in the UK there’s good and bad parts, weirdos, good guys, bams and sound *.

    Just cant get enough
It seems that the folk who live locally and maybe have a bit of background knowledge are fairly sure Mitchell is guilty.
It’s the rest of us that have watched the documentary that seem to have doubts.
    Is this fair to say?

To be honest opinions still pretty split. No one here knows any more about what happened that night than anyone else in Scotland. It’s just the other characters involved that people will know better.

It might have been sexually motivated but she wasn't sexually assaulted.

It's in the court transcripts. I'm not doing stuff that you could find on Google quicker than the time it's taken you to ask me.
But if i recall correctly Luke's texts were deleted at 12.30 as shown on the sim card. While he was in police custody.

Not watched that documentary but it seems like it's the most exciting thing that's happened this season.

Do you think the attacker would murder her and leave a condom with their * at the scene of the crime ?

:39: I'm not a criminal psychologist.... * knows what some sickos get a kick out of.
Strikes me as odd that the guy admitted to having a posh * while there was a dead body less than 50 yards away.

It's true there are some sickos out there, but the actual murderer ain't leaving their DNA right at the scene of the crime, someone may be sick in the mind but they won't want to get caught.

I asked you because you posted about texts being deleted, which would seem to have been a fair question. If it's in the court transcript then I can only assume his defence raised it and the prosecution dealt with it or the jury choose to ignore it/decided it was bullshit, either way his defence raised it/used that info and that was all I asked.

I know the documentary was all one sided, but I just cannot see how he was convicted, apart from the fact that the police would have been under sever pressure to get a conviction and he was an easy target. We aren't talking about a criminal mastermind here, it was a 14 year old child, but he somehow managed to commit such a horrendous crime but didn't leave a shred of evidence at the scene, it just doesn't add up. The polygraph test was a big thing for me, especially the fact that both he and his mum passed it.

I think this was the case on a number of points raised tbh, i don't know for sure but if the defence thought they had a smoking gun that would exonerate their client, then you would think they would've pursued it with vigour.

I would have thought so as well tbh. Findlay was the defence lawyer and for all the faults that * has he was seen as one of the very best defence counsels at the time you could get, if I remember rightly. So based on that some of the stuff being used to say he is innocent now seems a stretch as he, findlay, would have surely went to town on that then.
