Good honest player, not good enough to wear the hoops though and prone to many errors.

should do well in championship though

While I think it was probably right for both Celtic and McManus to move on it is still sad to see a man who is a true Celt leave. Thank you Mick for all the great memories you gave us and best of luck to you down at Middlesboro.

Oh good *. * off with this *.

Should not be giving out these types of roles to * just because of them being ex players

Biscuit tin mentality again from the board * me, aye bring back ex players if they are the Xavi’s or Zidanes of the world but * me he was * as a player, what’s he going to bring to the fold? More * defending from the 2000’s playbook.

He was already on the books as staff, he’s just stepping in to help with training. It’s not that deep.

Why are people getting worked up? Similar situation to Kennedy getting a role as Interim manager.

Because they know what the club are like.

Why look for an experienced coach when there’s an ex player lingering around seems to be the Celtic way most of the time.

If he was given it in the summer, or even if he keeps it past the summer I'd 100% agree, but for now I feel like the majority of these appointments are temporary, time will tell I guess.

Because we all know what happened with the last “Interim manager” and look how that panned out.

I agree to an extent but we constantly have a pop at not letting youth have a shot on the pitch, why should that be different off the pitch?

Also, wasn't he part of the defence that got through to the last 16 in the Champions League...twice?

Has to be better than John as a defensive coach.

That’s very true and never put that into consideration.

The issue I have (not just with McManus) but the three of them DOD, JK and himself being appointed none of the three were world class or even close to that defensively, so what can they bring to a club that’s had the worst defence I’ve seen in 20-30 years? This worries the life out of me, especially with the track record of the board. Bar MON, GS and we’ve had zero to none progress in terms within our coaching staff or assistant managers, they’ve all been bit part ex players with no credentials, this is the sole problem we are dealing with right now as a club. The board are happy to * 5 million on a Striker that’s useless, 2.3 million here there and everywhere on players that don’t even see the first team, yet when it comes to the workings of the club the investment is woeful. I’d rather them invest in a decent manager and backroom first then build from there, as a club with our financial credentials being run by skimping on class managers and coaching staff is leaving us in the dust.

Also please don’t think I’m anti these guys, I’m all for giving them a chance and to be proved wrong. I just know what our current board are like for shortchanging us.
