you'd be surprised by how prolonged some negotiaitions actually are but we, the fans, only know about them a few days before the player signs on the dotted line.

if there was room to negotiate you think we should of just stuck to our guns straight away and said 'this is the first and final offer'? because i don't.

his agents are out of our controll. we cannot tell them what they can and can't say to the press. the club has said many a times that we shall not rise to what other individuals or media say.

i have faith that we have numerous options for the places that WGS wants to strengthen and we will get them before the window shuts.

 

funny thing is we were warned of this a few times by romanian members here, about how his agents want the highest penny for him and a cut for them and are known for * up transfers because of wage demands

 

said in the daily shitecord that his agent said the deal is dead unless celtic do something about it and that Tamas wasn't holding out for 20k but would accept the 16k offered. To me tha sounds as though the deal is still very possible but that it is celtic who are in control, this agent guy's getting worried and spouing all kinds of * cause he knows his stubbornness may have scuppered the deal. This is a good thing. If Lawell has pulled out then its for good reason, i don't want some money hungry waster in the hoops, if that's the case. could well be something totally different, i.e. Basa is now worth investigating before the Tamas deal is tied up, or whatever. Irrespective, I trust our an at the top, he's willing to put up the cash, but only for good business. I lik it, he's playing hard and not being pushed around, in the end should hopefully help us get good quality at a decent price. Still think either Tamas or Basa will sign, could be that its case of choosing which one we want.

I think fans have to understand that most players are money driven. to think otheerwise is fooolish.

 

then they need to get a new job. I despise anyone who can play football for the most of their life and only do so for the money. If what you're saying had an ounce of truth in it, I'd go try and close every young footballing club I know of. Playing football is about playing football. You only have to look at the fact that Division 1 to 3 exists to realise it's not all about money.

Its a job mate....they are lucky they are talented and can earn lots of money but like you and me they want to earn as much as they can.

I dont understand why fans dont relaise its a job for these guys.

The guys at divisions 1-3 would move in a shot....if they were good enough. That is a fact.

Of course they would. Right now they are mostly part time and have jobs, simply being able to concentrate on football 24/7 is a privilege in itself, that's why they'd move. Plus they would be making themselves by players but stepping up a standrd.. To alot of Div 3 player it's not a job, it's a sport, fun, time with the lads and they go to their job every day 9-5 like all of us. So saying they'd mvoe is a no brainer, it has no valid point.

You hit it spot on there. They're lucky to be where they are, so anyone who moves to earn more money and step down in terms of pecking order is simply taking a step back. As a footballer that's a bad move. Infact in any profession it's a bad move. It's lucrative to begin with until you realise your now stuck on that level.

sorry i disagreee.In a short career money is the main driving force. Not the only one but the main one imo. You have to think of you and your family.
