Mr Steven Gerrard flanked by Generals Beaton , Madden and Fifth Collumnist Willie gleefully accepted the spoils of war ..

Really think some people are underestimating the damage that having him here for another 4 months could do.

It’s basically writing off next season already, and letting him potentially ruin the likes of Turnbull, Soro and any youngsters who’s involved.

Players will be gutted too. Also in future guys like Eduard would be telling any would be signings that ask him for advice to avoid us as we are clearly a total shitshow.

Think the only ones doing this are Lawwell and Desmond. Don’t think any Celtic fan wants another game under Lenny.

    We are in freefall.

Next 4 months is going to be chronic and I am deadly serious when I say I wouldn't even agree with those tweets above yet because who the * is to say we are going to finish 2nd under this regime??

Jesus. 3rd is a real possibility. But its fine we won the scottish cup from last season, Neil, eh. *.

As much as I agree with this I just don't think it's realisitc.

There's still too many fannies in our support who will pander to it. The only way we will get real action now is by acting ourselves.

If I’m honest I don’t think we will win the league next season regardless who is in charge if I’m honest.

We need a massive rebuild and the new manager will need to time to mild the team into their vision.

It may well be the case, but I’m convinced are chances are significantly better if we act now (or ideally months ago).

100% it should have been done in September/October time.

Keeping Lennon till the summer will cause further damage and I had a terrible feeling we will end up being told, we tried to get the right man for the job but we think that John Kennedy is the man to take us forward, he knows the club blah blah pish etc.

That happens then the zombies and slippy will do at least 3/4 in a row before we get our act together.

That's a really grim, yet accurate assessment of where we're at.

If you put a Hun in charge of Celtic these past few years, I don't even think it would have caused as much damage.

I don’t care what any apologist for the board or Lennon say, this is negligence and incompetence on par with that which almost led to our ruin in the 90s. In fact, it might even be worse because this capitulation has happened from an unprecedented level of strength.

I dont say this lightly, and I am a guy who feels he has a good grasp of emotions.
With every ounce of passion, i despise this board, a propper hatred and utter contempt. Would not shed a drop of pisss if they were on fire.

I get what you’re both saying. Fundamentally I’m in agreement.

The first thing I’d say is if Lennon is told he’s finished and the players are told he’s finished, I think you’d see enough of an upturn in performances to finish second. Again it’s not my preference, I would give literally anyone else the job for the remainder of the season.

My only point is we need new leadership from the top and it is them who should be pursuing a manager, and the chances are we will have our best opportunity to get a manager if we do it in the summer.

I would personally give a new manager a fresh start in the summer, completely cut off from the riot of this season.

I don’t think there’s a great deal of benefit coming in now especially under pandemic conditions and while Lawwell is still running the show. I think too much is made of having a head start. I also think either way the champions league qualifiers will be a huge ask, I don’t think coming in early would be of any benefit for them.

Anyway, the bottom line for me is Lawwell should be gone before the new management team comes in. They should never even meet each other.

I'd have a modicum of respect for Lennon if he did the right thing and stood down, also if the Board did their job and removed him i would applaud them for acting in the best interests of Celtic, but none of that looks likely to happen any time soon. The daily destruction of the club is being allowed to continue and that is criminal, i only feel anger and hatred towards Lennon and the Board, this is under their watch, they are fully responsible for the mess we are in, this season of all seasons, it's unforgivable.
