Good player but what's the point? :39:

If it's not a permanent signing (which isn't a call Lennon should be making anyway considering he won't be here) then I'd much rather we gave game time to Welsh.

Same situation with Henderson, Connell, Harper etc.

Would rather actually buy in 2 centre backs especially since Ajer and Bitton will likely be away in the summer. Benkovic was good but too injury prone, last thing we need really.

Him, Ajer and Gallagher as our main 3 is something I could live with.

Hasn’t worked for him at Cardiff, Bristol or Leicester. He impressed on a handful of occasions for us. Why are we so desperate to get him back? I don’t understand the logic of constantly going back for ex loanees from 3 years ago.

some players suit clubs they way they play, surroundings etc - part and parcel of the game I guess - it would be less risky in some aspects - the worry is obv injury prone etc.. the best way to get match fit is to play games - nothing to lose him or duffy/ bitton?! get him in if he is willing 12 month signing with option to buy?

So just keep going with Bitton and Duffy making a * of it? He’s better than both and if we can get him then we should.

Brendan Rodgers has opened the door for Filip Benkovic to make a stunning return to Celtic.

The centre-back, capped once by his country, was recalled by his parent club yesterday after spending time at Cardiff City this season.

And Rodgers has admitted that he may return to Parkhead where he spent a season on loan in 2018.

Rodgers said: “It's certainly a possibility. It's a huge club and he did very well there. We haven't had any contact but he's back now and we will see what happens.

Celtic would be a great move for him. He's at the age where he really needs to be playing and that didn't quite materialise at Cardiff.

“I would never blame another manager for not playing someone because circumstances can change all the time but unfortunately it didn't work out.

“It's quite simple really, it's now a case of finding somewhere where he can go next and get some game time

If we can get him on a loan to buy i'd still take him.

Not for me, its not what we need. 20 appearances for us, loaned to Bristol 10 appearances, Loaned to Cardiff, plays 1 game for 70 minutes causing a goal ( all in the last 3 seasons.). Rodgers is saying its a good move for him because he wants rid, he has no intention of using him for Leicester. We need someone who is not only good at defending but is up and running, match fit and can go straight into the starting 11. Gallagher of Motherwell would be a better bet.
