Yeah I don’t think we’re going to agree here :giggle1:

Edouard can also beat a man, but he’s often failed to even trap a ball this season.

McGregor is probably the best passer of a ball in our squad, but he’s often failed to find the mark this season.

Laxalt could beat a man when he first arrived, but he can’t now....

Mate, Tierney makes a bigger difference to the LB area over Laxalt/Taylor :giggle1:, that's all that needs to be said. :celt_2:

    Nobody is arguing otherwise.

I’m simply saying that assuming he would come back and be the same Tierney that left, it indeed the same Tierney that’s currently at Arsenal, would likely prove not the be true.

Very good players are currently struggling here, and that will continue until we get things right in the training pitch, and tactically. Tierney would face the exact same issues plenty fo other good players currently are.

I get what you’re saying mate. We would make Messi look * the way we’re playing just now with zero organisation etc.

For me this is the problem with Laxalt. He’s probably a really good player but we’ll never see it while he’s running around like a headless chicken. Taylor seems to know the position in the team much better.

As others have said, we have a great team wi the terrible coaches. A decent coach could’ve worked wonders this season.

I think you’re wrong as well.
Even having Eddie back to his old Self made a difference today. I don’t think his training or fitness levels have changed much.

Well, I’m not going to watch Eddie turn up for the first time in months and use that as evidence that there’s been nothing wrong with the teams training, tactics, or fitness over the season so far.

I think Eddie turning up only reinforces my point - he’s clearly a good player, but has struggled massively this season. Other very good players have too. I don’t believe chucking another good player into the mix would’ve yielded drastically different results.

    Yeah that’s basically it.

Seen far too many teams full of excellent players turn in * performance over extended periods of time to think that the answer to our problems is simply to upgrade the players. If you don’t get tactics, coaching, conditioning, mentality, motivation etc correct, then you can chuck as many good players at a problem as you like, but it will never be fixed.

I would have Taylor over Laxalt at the moment we seem to have a better balance team when he plays . Laxalt runs alot but gets caught out of position all the time . We need defenders to defend first and try and keep clean sheets so i think Taylor is more suited just now

I like Laxalt and he would get right stuck in against them, plus he would put in a right good shift with his movement and energy.

It’s amazing how as Celtic fans we are critiquing the qualities of the left back on his efforts going forward!

First I want a competent defender, the going forward bit is a bonus if he’s good at it.

    Stats from transfermrkt

    Taylor - 17 appearances 1 goal 5 assists
    Frimpong - 17 appearances 1 goal 2 assists

which one of the two is also a better defender but still gets most abuse?

I was referring to the part where you said it “wouldn’t matter who we signed”

eddie showed today the players can make a huge difference to the dynamic of the team.
For what it’s worth I know Eddie does & has looked disinterested but I think some of that is his way, I think he’s been very unfortunate not to have scored quite a few goals & set up many more lately, last ditch blocks, excellent saves etc.

one of the ones I’m more disappointed with is Ryan being so shot greedy, but I’m sure I read he’s following instructions to shoot on site.

Think I would go with Taylor now on Saturday. Every time he has the ball out on the left I just expect absolute nothing. Taylor can put a ball in at least.

Wish he would take his man on more and not keep coming inside and passing backwards/sideways.

He has the pace to do so unlike Taylor so no excuses.

Has to start going for the byline more like Frimpong was doing today.

He's tenacious and energetic, but that's about it really.

I think him coming into a team in shocking form made him look a bit better than he actually was. His crossing and general attacking play leaves a lot to be desired, but I like him and think he is useful, just a bit unproductive in the final third. He's either showing his level or has lost confidence.

Left back, along with keeper, is another position we have made a dogs dinner of. Lax, Boli and Taylor, none setting heather on fire.
We got 25M for KT, surely we could have done better than those 3???

Shows how good a player KT was, his replacements couldn't hold a candle to him, we were spoiled with his talent & tbf to the scouting department, replacing guys like Forster, KT, Van Dijk, Wanyama, Dembele etc with like for like or better replacements is a near enough impossible task on our budget.
