I couldn’t care less where there from. If they’re good enough, then I genuinely wouldn’t give a toss.

There's nothing strange about it whatsoever.

    What a bizarre mindset.

But you don't think its good to have a healthy number of Scottish or at least Irish players at the core of the club as they understand the importance of Celtic? Also if we had a squad of 20 players who where from 12 different countries and barely put out a local lad or 2 wouldn't you find that a bit shallow? Personally I would, i'm glad that our squad has a good amount of Scottish and Irish players who understand what it means to play for Celtic

You’ll be proven wrong. I’ll look forward to your response when he’s a first team pick every week. ( which won’t be long)

It’s a bizarre mindset in my opinion to give toss where a player’s from

If you can’t see the need for any club to have a good core of homegrown talent, then it’s pointless debating it tbh.

For example if McGregor or Forrest were French or Spanish, do you think they would have stayed at the club so long..not a chance.

And longevity is just one of many reasons as to why it’s beneficial..

Think you may just be trolling now tbh.

It’s not important to me. If they’re good enough, then where they’re born means nothing to me

Considering you're the only * on here who thinks that then it's really not.:giggle1:

Lisbon Lions all from within a 30 mile radius of Celtic Park? Ah, means nothing. No different to if half of them were from South America.

    Mhm.

    where does it end then?

Would it be more encouraging to have Glaswegians from Celtic-supporting families playing as opposed to “teuchters” that don’t really know what it’s like to be brought up in a Celtic household?

Scottish players understand the club, they understand the league and they have a better understanding of the pressures. They also have no issues with homesickness, learning the language, adjusting etc. They also ensure that other players settle better and understand what’s expected of them. Then there’s the UEFA rules for player registration in continental competitions, which require a number of homegrown players...

If you’ve got two players of absolute equal abilities and attitudes, but one is Scottish and one isn’t, the Scottish one is the one we should sign 100% of the time.

With all due respect, you’re just wrong on this one.

Absolutely 100%. It's long been my opinion that anyone not born to a Scottish father in Coatbridge shouldn't play for Celtic.

    Yes.

Kilt wearing Irish Republican Scottish Glaswegians should be our signing policy. Redheads are encouraged to apply within.
