We also need to ditch the 2 sitting players. If we go with that 3, McGregor and Ntcham have to play as number 8s with brown sitting. Ntcham is better that little bit deeper and as shown after January, we are a far better team to watch and far more creative with McGregor pushed on slightly.

I couldn’t agree more McGregor was in great form playing more advanced with Ntcham in a system which was brown at 6 and two 8’s rather than two sitters and a 10.

I also think Christie is better slightly deeper as an 8 rather than a 10 given his energy and work rate and the fact he gets a bit more time on the ball.

At home in domestic football even when we were 3 at the back last year it felt overkill at times having Brown sitting and three CBs to mind one or two attackers whilst our other 6 outfield players struggle to break down a stubborn 10 man defence.

Yeah wouldn't say we are wasting McGregor playing him as a sitter next to Brown because he's still influencial but he's definitely far more of an influence the further up he plays.

Definitely is overkill playing both Brown and McGregor sitting in domestic games. 2 of them work well in Europe but that shape isn't needed in the league where like you say we are playing against teams parking the bus.

I agree bout Christie. That run of games where he played as an 8 next to McGregor he was superb.
It's a strange one as to why we at it to be honest because, McGregor, Christie and Ntcham are all more suited to playing as an 8 rather than as a 10. The only midfielder we have that the 4231 suits best is Rogic and he's barely played.

He's far too classy to be a bit part player..

He should be in our midfield 100% bud..

Only way I can see this happening is it NL decides to rotate. Surely cant expect Brown to play 3 games every 8 days.
So would make sense to pick 3 from Brown CalMac Christie and Nicham, would give valuable rest periods for all.

We surely need to rotate more this season. We can't just keep running likes of McGregor, Brown, Forrest and Ajer(if he's still here) into the ground. The number of games they have played over the last few years is testament to their fitness levels but it's not sustainable even allowing for the 3 month break

I feel he’s (finally) starting to run games and boss the middle of the park on a consistent basis. He’ll be very important this year and be interesting to see if he can do it without broon on the park.

There's no way he stays here beyond the end of the transfer window if he keeps sitting on the bench..

Where do you play him though pal? Personally I think he's better deeper than the attacking midfield role but Christie the only one that's really droppable.

Could drop McGregor in to Broony's position now and again or drop Christie and stick him in..

Think it's harsh he's been basically stuck with the second string and bench when he's a very very good player..

I mind we played with Brown, McGregor and Ntcham a few times under Rodgers and the dynamic didn’t really work. Lack of pace and pressing in the middle which Christie gives us.

Ntcham is tremendous on his day though.

Christie offers us so much more than Ntcham..

More energy, more goals, more assists, grafts like * every game.

Ntcham has his purposes but I don't think he's in our best XI.

If he plays then it's got to be at the expense of Broony IMO. When we play both as part of a central 3 we completely lack mobility in there.

He's a baller that has a pass that no one else in our side does and also a physicality we lack in there..

    Both can play deffo..

Would happily see us try resting brown and playing McGregor, Ntcham and Christie together, but this isn’t the game to do it in.

If he had any sense he’d be getting his agent to get him out of here.
