    * sake.

Don’t get me wrong I think Fletcher will do us a turn.

But if this means we are now out of the running for Ajeti and Toney then * me. Both these guys are entering their prime and could have been key players for seasons to come.

There’s no way we will sign Fletcher and Toney or Ajeti. That’ll be 5 strikers and even if Bayo goes, 4 is still too much.

If this turns out to be true, I want to see serious investment in other positions, like CB, LB, LW, RW, as Fletcher is clearly the cheap option.

You would think we would have had more striker options lined up after Ajeti and Toney. Forward planning for when Edouard probably leaves next season is now out the window.

It’s growing on me. Good different option off the bench, had a good year last year and an upgrade on Bayo, but don’t see why we’d then be going for Toney/Ajeti as well unless Griffiths is off

Lol, I caught a glimpse of something like Sutton believing Fletcher good replacement for Edouard. Just saw the headline, never read the story so as to not even dignify the thought.

This signing will split the support big time if he comes and it's the cheap option again from the * board .

If this Fletcher deal goes through then I can't help but feel * off at the lack of proper investment in the squad. It's the * 10-in-a-row season - push out all the stops. Spare me the "do you want to end up like the huns" pish as well please.

Depends if it's an alternative to Ajeti/Toney or as well as one of those.

    Moan about wanting experience

Moan when experienced players get linked.

The human mind is a strange thing when it comes to transfers :56:

The headline is totally misleading. Sutton was talking about Fletcher taking some of the weight off of Édouard's shoulders during the coming season.

He obviously doesn't believe that Fletcher can or will replace Édouard when he leaves.

Not exactly an exciting signing, but may be a useful one, provided we can keep Edourd.

I have no issue with that being our lot as far as strikers go this season. We need a central defender, and could do with strengthening at left back and on the wings.

I don’t doubt we’ll get them, just frustrating to always be waiting until the season is underway to even bring them in the door.

Fair enough, I literally never read the stories these days.

To be fair I'm not totally against him coming in, so long as it's not a replacement.

Steven Naismith has experience, should we sign him? About the same amount of Premiership appearances as Fletcher too. Of course not, because he's not good enough.

At the end of the day there's a fine line between a good experienced signing and a poor one.

If the window closes and Fletchers the only striker we have signed then it won’t go down well. But jeez there’s still plenty time to get our business done...ovbs would rather we would do it sooner rather than later. Would hold back on hammering the board until we have finished our business. IMO we will still sign another striker after Fletcher.
