you would never get away with it. How was it a dodgy transaction when you booked it with Jet2 & willingly gave your bank details?

The Banks aren’t thick, disregarding the lack of morals in telling blatant lies in the first place.

This is terrible advice, in case anyone is seriously considering it.

    (No offence Drakhan)

No it isnt fraud. If travel company holding onto your money and refusing refund then you are entitled to do this.

Why. Its legal to get a refund and if they refuse then they are keeping money they arent entitled to so you are within your rights to do this

Why. People are entitled to the refund and travel companies are witholding the refund illegaly. If you cant make it due to covid sanctions then yes i would do this.

Its called a chargeback for bank accounts and for people who paid by credit card Section 75 is used. Hundreds of people have used these methods since lockdown to get money back.

Got my money quickly via jet2, no probs.

Still not sure about next year either, probably see how it's all going and then just do a late deal or something if we feel OK.

What legislation or where in your bank's terms and conditions does it say you can lie about a transaction?

Would you not take it up with Ombudsman rather than use the "dodgy transaction" story?

Ive used jet2 a lot over the years as they are based in Leeds and pretty much control the airport there... I’ve never booked a package in over 20 odd flights.... always seat only...

The packages they sell are fairly recent but still think the majority of travellers are flight only.

Just back from Aberdour :100: lovely wee village and had a comfortable stay in the Aberdour Hotel. Feel a stone heavier though:56:Hot chocolate fudge cake, ice cream and wine are a bad idea when you're trying to lose a few pounds :52:

I’ve found The 4 month lockdown pretty easy to deal with.... I didn’t have travel plans ... was working from home anyway and the weather was great for most of it....

It’s NOW that I’m starting to go stir crazy... being effectively stuck in a ‘borders’ lockdown with restrictions on travel and the measures in shops etc makes me feel more ‘confined’ than when I was ‘confined’

Im supposed to be working in Buenos Aires for a month from mid-October and was then gong to spend a further month travelling in S America... looks totally scuppered now. South America is still on the upward slope and Argentina has about the strictest measures in the world at the moment with zero international flights until September at the earliest.... they are trying to relax restrictions as their crappy economy has tanked even further and they have to try and get it moving...but the virus keeps winning and they have to raise restrictions again.

Brazil is a disaster with highest infection and death rate in world (after Trumpland) and they are probably nowhere near peak.. who knows when it will be safe to go there?!?

We could have the situation in the U.K. where we seem to have got the battle won ( if not the war) only to find that winter brings another surge and we find ourselves going into a similar cycle again.

Who said its a lie. You are entitled to a refund. If they are refusing that refund after THEY cancel your holiday then you are entitled to get your money back in full.

    You're not getting it.

Your methodology is what I am questioning.

YOU said to make up a lie

Because you're proposing that he lie about the transaction being fraudulent when you know fine it wasn't.

If you go claiming jet2 used a “dodgy transaction” to get your money, I think you will be waiting longer to get your money back. You might even find yourself worse off financially in the end, as they will possibly sue you.
