Isn't Argentinian relegation done based on an average of 5 years rather than 1 season performance. If they did that here Hamilton would be *

Of them all I think the French are being the most realistic. Some of those leagues might begin again but I'd be surprised if they all or even half of them do. Too risky and at present just wishful thinking.

Also, the French League had a team 12 points in front so easy and uncontroversial to know who the eventual champions would be. I'd expect PSG to be declared winners pretty soon.

Agree with you I think the French are being the most realistic here and no doubt PSG will be declared champions soon enough given they were way out in front like ourselves.

You could take that into account by judging it on form at point of lockdown then. Simple, fair and logical. Who could object? :39:

Apparently each club would spend £150k on testing if the season carried on.

Wonder what that means for next year? 3 to 4 times that if it had to be done for the full season? That's a lot of money.

Too much tv money in England to lose if they have to cancel the season. I wouldn't mind the epl bubble bursting tbh

Let the scum take it back to complete home and away matches (22).
We were still top of league although by 2 points.
    Hearts were still bottom.

The virus seems to be having a more serious effect in Europe / Usa than it does elsewhere. But the low death rates in some countries compared to others is what strikes me. ( Germany v Italy, Sweden v Spain ). Swedeen has taken a different approach to lockdown and more countries should look at this.

So assuming the virus strain is the same then what is causing the disparity. Could it be that Germany/Sweden have better hospital equipment, ie enough. Have these countries got better PPE and access to more tests.

There is no breakdown on the number of people dying from the virus and those dying because of lack of treatment/ equipment. I would not be surprised to see lockdown eased when countries like the UK have access to more tests and ventilators. Maybe the authorities are just hiding there own short comings and that is the reason there is no breakdown of figures.

If EPL want to play football then i would like to hear what they plan to do if a Player tests positive for Covid19 a day or two after the match, what is the plan going forward? Do they halt all football again, stop that team playing, retest everybody who was at the ground?

Pretty sure there are thousands of businesses who would love a special gov task force to be appointed to get them back to work asap.

Here in Asia i have not heard a single person talking about resuming sport in any form. People here seem to have their priorities in order.

Personally it would be a welcome break from the news on covid19 playing 24/7. If they can employ private staff and private tests then so be it. Life has to return to normal sometime, and if lockdown is getting loosened in the next week then I see no problem why they cant go to work. Its safer than what's happening to all the workforce in any supermarket meeting thousands a day behind a 1 inch screen and zero protection. Surely that's a bigger risk than a footballer playing against another 30 people helping to keep the male population mentally sane. Ofcourse the woman will still moan "aw not football eeeuughhhhh"

It is a good post but in fact Taiwan has resumed their football and baseball and chinese players are already training. That said the situation is completely different there
