Tempted to say “leave it as it is”, but given it’s HBO and Druckmann is involved as well. Pls be good.

    Holy *.

HBO adapting it with Druckmann on board is perfect.

  4. Wonder who they'll cast as Joel and Ellie ? I mean there's a obvious choice..:giggle1:

Kaitlyn Dever would be perfect as Ellie.

Jackman or Coster-Waldau as Joel would work as well. Think Karl Urban could be a shout for him as well. Or even Josh Brolin.

If they’re doing it so they can also cover the time jump of TLOU2 then Dever would be perfect.

In Unbelievable she looked so * young and tiny.

Kind of hope they get an unknown for Joel.

  10. I'm glad they ditched the movie idea, there's no way you could truncate that story down to 2-3 hours without losing a lot of important story beats in the process. The success rate of game adaptations isn't great, but there's some obvious potential with this one and it's probably one of the more straightforward games to adapt.

It was interesting reading the Hollywood Reporter article and seeing the comment about Sony Pictures Television apparently planning more projects with Playstation IPs. So many of the obvious candidates run in to the same problem that a lot of these adaptations face - they're either too big to condense down to the length of a movie (or, inversely, there's not enough there to begin with), but they're not practical to do on a TV budget (or at least as live-action).

  11. Just finished my first ever play through of the main game and Dlc funnily enough.

Think Jackman would be a solid pick but I disagree on Kaitlyn Dever - she looks to old for a girl who's supposed to be 14/15.

Have you seen her in Unbelievable? She’s tiny.

And if they’re wanting to do the time jump to the new game then an older actress makes sense.

  13. Yeah I know but there's something about her face that doesn't fit for me. Tbf I don't have any other suggestions as I'm * with actors at the best of times!

I never considered the time jump, so you have a point! Assumed it would go back to the start.

  14. Meh, TWD never ending story has already ended end of days pish for me.

Meanwhile Mahershala Ali has reportedly been offered the role of Joel :56:

The casting for Ellie is quite a solid choice. Mahershala Ali is a great actor, but seriously? Just make a different story with new characters in the same world.

  18. Are they just doing a series in the world or is it the games story?

    Games story mate.

If the actual creators of the game couldn’t do this for TLOU2 then no chance were getting this with the series at least until they’ve done the games storylines.
