    We made a bid for him last night. Fc Utrecht owner has confirmed.

    Looks interesting so hopefully we follow it up in the summer. 8 goals and 6 assists this season.

  7. After the St.Johnstone game we should of been putting in bids for wingers or centre backs, not waiting last minute when no one is going to sell since they can’t get a replacement in. Brilliant strategy.

  10. CELTIC made a late offer to sign Dutch winger Gyrano Kerk, according to FC Utrecht owner Frans van Seumeren.

    The champions failed to add any personnel on transfer deadline day and recruited just two players during the window - Ismaila Soro and Patryk Klimala.

    Neil Lennon's side had reportedly targeted wingers - including Newcastle United star Christian Atsu - but none came through the door at Parkhead last month.

    However, they did made an attempt to sign Utrecht's 24-year-old wide man Kerk.

    Van Seumeren said: "Lots of clubs asked about Kerk, but they never turned into actual offers.

    The only club who made a concrete bid was Celtic.


    "I'm surprised we did not receive more interest to be honest because he is a player who is constantly a threat and involved in most of our goals."

    Kerk came through the youth system at Utrecht and has already netted eight goals from the wing, with six assists in 20 appearances for Utrecht this season.

    PSV Eindhoven were linked with a move for the £3.5 million-rated wide man last month, but he will remain in the Dutch Eredivisie for the rest of the season after Celtic failed to follow up on
    their interest.

  11. Bidding for players on deadline day is an entirely natural thing to do and every single club has done it. Bizarre criticism.

    If the player hadn’t been scouted and we were making a scatter gun approach then that’s different but that doesn’t appear to be the case.

  13. So why did we not stick a bid in a week before the deadline day, if the player had been scouted ?

    Call it what you want, but to leave it that late is stupidity. Or convenient. Whichever you prefer.
