Just because they hinted at her turning into the Mad Queen doesn’t mean they didnt completely * up her actually becoming the Mad Queen.

Like most things in the end, they completely rushed it and ruined the pacing.

 

I watched the first half hour of that The Last Watch behind the scenes today . Guys its worth a watch just to see ( im using their cast names ) a clip of the very first series read through before they get their scripts , Arya is fekkin toaty . it then jumps to the read through of series eight and honestly some of the actors look so so different . the biggest thing tho is seeing jon snows reaction when they read out he kills Danerys ! he looks really shattered and the gasps from the other stars at the news is wow , another gid bit is when they read how arya kills the night king , cheers and whooping but the hounds reaction is the best .

 

Watched it earlier. Incredible the amount of work that went into it. Must be soul destroying for some of them to see the reaction to the season.

There's a similar behind the scenes/making of documentary of the LotR films on Youtube - but there's 5 or 6 parts. Highly recommend it.

A bit late to this thread, but to answer your question it wasn't a dragon glass blade, it was her valyrian steel dagger. Which worked... just because.

I was kind of expecting they were going to have to cut the dragon glass shard that the children of the forrest used to create him back out of him. But nope, any little nick from a valyrian steel blade would have done the trick it seems.

 

Re watching this. Feel it's even better. Lot of the characters and storylines were lost on me the first time.

 

Just started watching from the start again the other night. Aye it’s even better second time round. Even the start of the first episode with the white walkers it just makes it so much better because you understand it. Even though they basically meant fuckall to the plot by the end

 

I will watch it again at some time , honestly on series 4/5 before a lot of characters and names fell into place for me . so many things I missed first time around .

 

It’s just so good man, watching it just now and I can’t believe now it turned out.

 

The first 4 seasons are untouchable.

Still canny get over much of a shitshow that last season was.

 

This it was tragic tbh.

 

Can’t motivate myself to start it again knowing the * of an ending it all builds up to.

Like you said, still not over it.

 

Had everything to be epic , but ! stories rushed to fit , back stories ignored , stuff invented and after all that … john snow went back to the wall poor ending .

 

Don’t know a single person who thinks it was even a decent final season. Wasn’t even one thing they messed up. Everything was completely butchered.

They basically chucked it to go and start on their Star Wars project and then ended up getting punted from that in the end.

Mental.

 

I didn't love it the last season, but I didn't hate it either. To be honest by that point I felt I'd had enough of GoT anyway. 'The Long Night' and 'The Bells' I think the episodes were called were good enough to make up for the rest of the seasons shortfalls anyway.

 

Those two were probably the biggest problems of the season.

They jumped the shark in both those episodes.
