Lennon - we may need to move out players, before signing anyone.

Surely @Tim-Time 1888 in light of the information from the bunnet would it not make fiscal sense to build the hotel/museum on some sort of credit terms rather than cash? That’s the only thing I can think of why we are storing cash in such amounts!

 

Tbf, Lenny has been giving that same generic soundbite the entire window. At this stage, I'm just going to reserve my judgement until September 2nd..

I wouldn't take anything lennon says to the press serious, yesterday it was 5 players we needed (including a RW for some reason), now we're down to 3 and need to move players on? He's just giving them soundbites to work with, he's done it all summer.

I expect (or hope) rumours will start kicking about after the Cluj game, which is poor but wouldn't surprise me. Going into the season with a serious chance of Ralston starting an important CL game is just as bad as Hendry starting last year.

 

He’s played there more than left wing for us. He’s considered a LB now.

We need another one as well though.

 

Ralston did start an important CL game took on the entire psg team and nearly scored.... then let 7 in.

 

In other words we will wait and see the outcome of the Cluj the Next a Slavia game if we get there!

On SSN there he remarked on the Leicester bid for McGregor: "we don't want to sell our best players". A strange statement to make considering we constantly sell our best players. I think a lot of fans, myself included, have been kidding ourselves over the last few seasons that the lack of rumors for quality players merely meant the club was keeping it's cards close to it's chest whilst doing business in the background but it's looking increasingly obvious that that silence has been purely down to nothing much actually happening. In the last few seasons our recruitment policy has gone from being frustrating to seemingly amateurish. You can only dilute the quality of the squad so far before something gives. Say what you like about sevco but for a club with a THIRD of the turnover/revenue of Celtic and no money in the bank they have managed to get pretty much all the players they wanted and get them in quick. Their desire to stop the 10 can't be questioned i wish i saw the same desire to achieve the 10 coming from our directors.

 

We're still recovering from Congerton and Rodgers scouting system imo. We should have had another RB in by now, for that there's no excuse, but those two set us so far back with recruitment it's unbelievable.

I'm not giving the Lawwell/the board any leeway here btw, they've got a good portion of blame they need to take for last summer and if they don't invest at least another 10 to 15 million this summer they would have failed the club again.

Lennons constant contradiction of his transfer comments is really starting to damage his own image

Lawwell is a complete * and I can imagine the restrictions he’s making Lennon work under but Lennon has a duty to the fans to be honest. Telling us we are getting 5 signings then 3, all of this after we failed to bring players in before Cluj game.

Let’s see how it unfolds but if we come out of this window weaker then it’s time for support to demonstrate our frustrations under current Boards regime
