We must turn down that kind of money, because we're not being threatened by administration or anything of the sort. The player is on a long-term contract, and Arsenal seem to not even have the funds to meet even the supposed 25M pricetag.

So they offered £18m upfront with £7m in add-ons confirmed on sky.

I genuinely would tell them to get to * and not come back!

But why when we are going for 10 in a row and there is no need whatsoever to sell!

We're not in a position to turn down an offer of 25 mil for one of our players, that's the reality of the situation.

If it's the same type of add-ons we rejected the previous bid for, then I don't expect this to be accepted. Arsenal obviously want to spread their funds on a lot of targets, and aren't prepared to actually pay the reported 25M. Celtic might not see the 7M. Not because of injury, but because Monreal and Kolašinac are both still at Arsenal.

Sorry prof I think we are in a position to.

    £40m plus in the bank.
trimmed wage bill by 20% from last season.
Ntcham valued at £12m and wanting away.
Potential £30m from UCL coming in.

It's no a case of dying to get rid of him but 25 mill is a lot of money to us. Significantly our highest ever sale if it goes ahead (which I'm sure it will)..

Then factor in he's missed a large part of last season, has ongoing injury problems and just off the back of surgery and it's easy to see why we'd accept..

Aside from all that though is KT maybe wanting to go himself..

It's the bigger picture we have to look at mate, it's gettin harder and harder to qualify for the CL and there is little or no money in SF, we have to operate as a business that can generate finances that will allow us to keep strengthening the team.

I know the Board have previous for not spending the money, but the next couple of weeks are gonna be really important for us, and could determine the success of our season and progress in Europe.

They didn't have to renew Moreal's contract so soon, yet they did it, before these bids. This isn't a club that is adamant about getting a LB in- it seems kind of an optional thing.
They are persistent, though. I think they deem Tierney's injury isn't severe, and are using it to knock down the price. A cheap deal to add competition to the position, rather than have a first-team player come in.

Let's spend money now, and make it easier. We have all but gone past the first hurdle, we need 3 more leaps.

Also, Tierney would not see CL with Arsenal this year. With us, he can.

I have tried to put myself in KT's shoes in all of this as like Keiran, I'm Celtic daft.

If we did accept a bid from Arsenal, and (I) were to go down and speak to Arsenal, I'd be thinking, Did I just play my last game for Celtic, and didn't even know it?

I may never play for Celtic again.
I may never walk out the tunnel to all the fans, who I call fellow fans and friends.
The days where we win trophies where i get to embrace the fans, megaphone and all.
Am I ready to leave all this behind?

Will I miss it, or will i get on with life at another club. Will I feel the same passion for that club?

I'm still young enough that a big move will still happen. Keep playing the way I have been and of course there will be.

Tell you what, if I were him (and this is only me) I would want to stay for 2 more seasons to become immortal.

Then I would take stock and look at my options.

    That's only me though.

If 25mil is on the table i think the decision will be made for KT, as supporters we view things differently, it's understandable that we don't wanna see him go, but when you have a player as good as KT is, it's nigh on impossible to keep him, especially when serious money is being offered.

Kieran might very well want to stay but the people closest to him will have him well aware he would be crazy to turn down a wage in the region of £100k a week.

If Arsenal match our price he'll go.

The last reported bid still isn't serious enough. Arsenal haven't really decided to pay the guaranteed 25M- it's ifs and buts on a part of that.

Does anyone know if Lyon used the same appearance-based add-ons in their Dembele bid, or were they ready to pay the 20M without tricks?

Could be wrong, but i think their final bid will be the 25 mil, by all acounts this is what the Board would accept.

Do we know if 25m is a price tag set by the board, a release clause in his contract, or just papers pulling a figure out of their *? Has there been a straight quote from anyone at the club?
