If it makes you feel any better, I've been told that Peter is working on things. He's normally quite quick at dealing with these matters.

Celtic’s lack of forward planning is hideous. Dembele, Boyata and Lustig to name but three examples were all 100% certain to be leaving and/or not good enough yet we’ve done literally * all in the way of replacing
Same with letting McGinn slip through our fingers when he was a nailed on Broony replacement.

Arses need booted and the club needs revitalised top down but I’ve said before we can’t do it til after ten in a row. Board are lucky we’re in our greatest domestic position ever as they’d be * chased in any other scenario. They better hope more than anyone Lennon can cajole two final league wins out of this bunch.

Would have made sense to keep Lustig for another year or 2 on reduced wages for continuity within the squad and his leadership traits.

However if we intend on bringing in 2 RBs this window (a starter and back up) then I'm happy with moving him.

Leaves us in the * regarding the European qualifiers. Only really have Ajer, Jozo and Bitton to play centre-back now and pretty much every season for about 4 years now centre-halves have been injured during the qualifiers.

I'd have tried to keep him for 6 month on the same wages he was on just to get through the qualifiers as it's never really a good idea for new guys to come in, especially unknown guys who the players dont know which is mostly the type of guys we sign. Might end up with Brown at centre-back for games lol

A 6-month contract would be demeaning in my opinion. He's going to get offers in Scandinavia for 2 or 3 years.

Just now is the right time for all parties to go their separate ways I think, he's leaving on a high.

If we've prepared accordingly for his departure (lol) then we should be bringing in the replacement pronto. If we faff about and go into the qualifiers with a threadbare defence then we're not getting through 4 rounds.

The Swedish season starts in like March though, I think he will go back to Sweden as his wife has been decorating their house there for over a year (clearly planning on moving back). So if he stayed here until January then he'd be joining the Swedish season in time for pre-season, also if he wanted his wife could move back to Sweden and start the weans at school knowing he'd be joining her in like 3-4 months anyway.

So it would be short term to help us out without really hampering his life.

Agree though we should have been better planned, imo it shows how much of a * Rodgers was. Rodgers clearly wanted to selfishly keep Dembele and Boyata this season knowing full well him and those two would be leaving at the end of it, never even planned for replacements and left us a striker down and cost us money by not being able to sell Boyata.

I get what you're meaning but a short-term contract like that effectively says 'we want you to do a job for us right now as we have completely failed to find a replacement in the last 18 months but we don't think you're good enough to stay long-term'

It would only be papering over the cracks of a recruitment system that badly needs an overhaul. Given we signed Toljan on loan and he didn't set the heather on fire, we should have irons in the fire for the RB position. There are no excuses for us not to have identified options.

Mostly mate, Piast Gliwice (Poland) & Cluj (Romania) would be a * nightmare fixture first round.

As for Lustig its a catch 22 situation. He's too expensive to keep on full terms for 2 years but we will miss his experiance. It should have been made clear from earlier in the year if he was staying or going. Uncertainty and a lackadaisical approach to almost everything by our recruitment department for 3 years has caused this situation. That leaked document can't have helped matters. The comments on our current players within it are ok for a private meeting but look disrespectful out in the public domain.
And the comments on targets have scuppered any chance of signing most of them imo, but thats a whole other * up.

I don't blame him now that Lennon has reintroduced chips back to the Lennoxtown menu.

Lustig, Boyata, Burke, Toljan, Benkovic, Weah, Allan, Izaguirre, Gamboa & De Vries all now gone from the squad at the club a month ago.

Should probably think about getting some in.
