I think thats our squad for next season if we can ship out Cham sign Harper.
Sinclair will probably be sold
A new RB and CB possible 2 CB if one is a loan (possible benkovic)
Gordon might be moved on but if is needs replaced.

 

Would be great to get Melling of Rosenborg over here , Rosenborg aren't going to get any exposure in Europe next season due to them sitting 13th in the league so we could get him on the cheap. Then we wouldn't have to run Tierney into the ground every season/ even possibly a cover for the right back spot if Lustig is gone

 

We will move hopefully at least 14 players off the bookies with contracts ending or loans up.

We might need to sell the odd couple too.

We won’t free up much money by selling players unless we sell one of our blue chip players which I hope to keep.

But with the 6 or 7 players we will look to bring into the squad, wages shouldn’t been an issue with so many high earners off the books.

It’s just how much Lenny will get to purchase these players.

I’m hoping the board have backed themselves into the corner with the Lenny appointment that they are forced to back him big.

A minimum of 15m plus player sales should cover it

 

Got sent this as our possible squad next season. I wouldn't go for Ba I asked and it was Abdoul Ba at Auxerre the guy mentioned hes Balde esque just not good enough.

We definitely need a tall strong Striker is Szalai that guy I'm not sure. In the case of Clarke-Salter I would go for but think Chelsea might use him as a squad player next season as they can't sign anyone.

I was speaking to a mate and he's sure Abdoul Ba is our answer for Left Sided Centre Back the guys only played what 5 games this season for Auxerre. Guys definitely not the answer.

We still have a decent core of players who will hopefully be revitalised after being run into the ground over the past few years.
Hopefully get some of the dead wood off the wage bill and bring in players who can actually compete and add something. I'm torn between thinking this will be a plus and make us better and also that we might regress with the chat about NL wanting his own team and to put his stamp on it. Like imagine we sell Ntcham and Rogic for decent money then either don't replace them or replace them with spfl level players.

 

I honestly don't even see us spending 8 mil in the summer let alone on 2 players.

It will be loans, free agents and maybe 3 signings costing between 4-6 million. Don't really expect much now that Lenny is manager.

 

What's your greatest achievement in Football Manager?

 

Right-back, two centre-backs, defensive midfielder and one attacking player.

Hopefully Benkovic and Roberts and the just one other right-back, centre-back and defensive midfieder. Maybe one or two young guys alos as squad players, Matthews, Stokes etc types although we have Gutman, Henderson, Shved, Johnston, Dembele and Bayo so probably not needed.

 

Defence: Tierney, New LB, Church, New RB, Ralston, Ajer, Benkovic, Jozo, New CB, Deas, Welsh, Compper, Hendry

Backup for Tierney is a must unless we think Church is ready to step up. New first team RB is the most important signing of the summer for sure. Ralston is competent backup at RB. Benkovic to come back on loan and we should sign another CB who can play RB if required. Deas and Welsh to be looked at throughout pre-season to see if they’re ready to make the step up. Hendry and Compper punted.

Midfield: Brown, McGregor, Ntcham, Christie, Eboue, Rogic, Henderson, McInroy, Bitton, Mulumbu

Brown should play a lot less next season, for me, with Mcgregor and Christie rekindling their partnership, but I can’t see that happening under Lennon. I think Lennon will like Eboue and I want McInroy and Henderson to play a good amount of games next season. Mulumbu and Bitton I would get rid of and hopefully bring in the boy Rekeem Harper that we were linked with.

If big bids came in for ONE of Ntcham or Rogic I would sell ONE.

Wingers: Sinky, Forrest, Johnston, Arzani, Hayes, Morgan, Dembele, Okoflex

A million wingers... Forrest will start. Sinclair shouldn’t be first choice next season and I don’t think he will be. Johnston or Arzani should get a run there. Lewis Morgan is another option but he’s looked poor out wide for me. If we are to give Morgan a chance I’d prefer it to be in the 10, but I can’t see him making it here and wouldn’t mind if we moved him on. Dembele and Okoflex to get a few appearances. Hayes to be kept for his versatility.

Attack: Edouard, Bayo, Griffiths, Shved, Aitchison

Edouard is the goat. Bayo, Griff and Shved to give us a real freshness in attack and should take care of the lack of goals we’ve seen the past few months. Aitchison to be looked at during pre-season to see what the best option for him is.

I would not touch him for the 10m asking price of yester year but 4 to 6m I would bite your hand off and happy to sell a midfielder (whose name is not Ryan, Callum or James) to accommodate the space. Having him, Jamesy, Christie and Shved would give us a dynamite fast set of midfielders which would allow squad rotation but keep the quality.
I think Paddy must regret his move to Girona and knows he will be wanted at Celtic. The move is heavily down to him as other clubs will take him cut price.

At right back I'm not sure on Ralston (he needs a loan out) and think I would get Lustig as back up for 1 more season. Get a new rb and hope it isn't Toljan.
GK I think I would like to see Bain for another season. If Gordon wants to stay for a season as back up I would say we have a good back up, if not then replace him.
I don't know much about football outside of SPL and EPL so no clue who we could sign at CB but we do need 2.

Keep Bain, get a cheaper younger backup than de vries and Gordon. Sign Liam Kelly maybe

Ajer and Jozo along with a new centre half, need to see what Lennon thinks of Hendry

New backup left back assuming we get rid of Izzy

Keep Lustig and Ralston and sign a new first pick right back

Central Midfield

Keep Brown
Keep Christie
Keep McGregor
I’d keep Bitton cos hes a good player that offers something different in midfield and in defence
Sell one of Rogic or ntcham and replace with a real quality centre mid/attacking mid

Manager will need to have a look at Kouassi, I reckon he’s a really good player that could be important next season

Wingers

Keep Forrest, wee Dembélé can play on the right as can mikey Johnston but I’d still want maybe another right winger but we’ll see how good Arzani is when he comes back.

Torn on Sinclair, he contributes so much but as far as I know he’s on a lot of money and we could get a more reliably good player for less
Need to see what shveds about but he’s meant to be good. I’d keep Hayes for left mid and left back.

Up front again it’s a case of seeing what Bayo can do and how Griffiths is when he returns. If they’re as good as assumed then that’s as good as 2 great signings

In terms of full squad no their isn’t in terms of at the back yes there is.

We need a new Right back at least 2 centre backs and a left back probably a goalie and a centre forward.

6 players isn’t a major rebuild when you are listening to people in the media saying 10 or more that’s a major rebuild.

 

@JC Anton and myself have been saying the same about Melling for 18 months now

 

For a majority of the games the 4-2-3-1 will be abandoned domestically and Lenny will go 3-5-2 or 4-4-2
