Aye he doesn’t have a clue that £40m in the bank was there from those giant beans he planted!

He doesn’t want to change his tactics I think is what you mean.

No pressure for Sunday at all.

    Constructive criticism, aye.

I've never met a Celtic fan that gushes with praise about Morelos but gives it both barrels to a manager that's won 7 out of 7 domestic trophies since he arrived.

Well if you look at it, I doubt there is many teams at a serious level who compete for big titles like the CL, like the Europa, like the league title in the top 5 leagues who turn a profit in transfers.

That is a clear and present link, * sake Valencia had spent over £100 mill this season on players.

    ARRIVALS 18/19
    Players Club Transfer sum
Gonçalo Guedes [IMG] Paris SG £36.00m
    Geoffrey Kondogbia [IMG] Inter £19.80m
Kévin Gameiro [IMG] Atlético Madrid £14.40m
Mouctar Diakhaby [IMG] Olympique Lyon £13.50m
    Jeison Murillo [IMG] Inter £10.80m
Cristiano Piccini [IMG] Sporting CP £7.20m
Daniel Wass [IMG] Celta de Vigo £5.40m
    Rubén Sobrino [IMG] Alavés £4.50m
Michy Batshuayi [IMG] Chelsea Loan fee:
    £2.70m
Salva Ruiz [IMG] RCD Mallorca Free Transfer
Facundo Roncaglia [IMG] Celta de Vigo Loan
    Denis Cheryshev [IMG] Villarreal Loan
    Kang-in Lee [IMG] Valencia B -
Aderllan Santos [IMG] EC Vitória End of loan
    £114.30m

Fair * it's from transfer market site, but how the * are we supposed to compete with that anymore.

No it isn’t what is important but I said many years ago when this celtic board in 2014 told Neil Lennon if he wanted to spend any finances he would need to sell Forster or Van dijk that we where spent as a European force.

As long as we win domestically and get some sort of revenue from Europe our board are happy.

Europe is a side show which is becoming a closed shop to the elite. Sadly we are no longer an elite club in Europe and Brendan Rodgers, Steve Clarke, Neil Lennon, Pep guardiola or Jurgen Kloop would change that.

Nah. Said Morelos was a good player which he is. Doesn’t make you a non Celtic fan for admitting it.

Rodgers has been extremely poor in Europe apart from the one off game.

If we want be champion league club. We need spent more. We just need look at Ajax. They used struggle in champion league qualifiers and now they spending money and are proper champion league team. They should beat Madrid other night.

The money thing is a * riddy. Where are them people with their comparing transfer budgets when we beat St Johnstone ect?

We were miles off it that’s why we lost.

If we had played well and had a proper go and lost then you wouldn’t mind, to a team of that quality.

It's also a team that spent that on players who went to the CL and the only team to beat them were Juve.

Money is everything in football now, it's why for the most part we are * on our league. Teams who win the big trophys spend disgusting money on players.

Ajax aren't winning Europa or CL any time soon.

We can't compete with them when it comes to money, but we didn't even compete with them at basic stuff. It was naive of Rodgers to send us out trying to play our usual game against a superior, richer side.

We can't go toe-to-toe with these teams, we won't dominate the ball and dictate the play to them so why even try? Sometimes you have to sacrifice style for substance, we needed to be far more direct and give Valencia something they A) weren't expecting, and B) something to actually defend.

It's not 1967, we can't play 'the Celtic way' in Europe and cruise through opponents. We beat Barca with a headed goal from a corner, and a route 1 punt upfield from the goalie. I don't know the last time either of those two actions happened under Brendan.

sick of hearing this bullshit excuse of 'these teams have more money than us therefore ots fantasy to expect us to win. Barcelona were the best team in the world by a mile when we beat them under Lennon; Benfica and Moscow also would have far outspent us that season. Man U, AC Milan, christ even Man City a couple of years ago all would have had one single player who cost more than our entire wage budget for 5 years.

We have always punched above our weight in Europe, this record of losing consistently to mediocre sides is a totally new phenomenon and cant be blamed on financial disparity as we have beaten many teams who are many times richer than ourselves in the past.

We're never going to play teams like Valencia off the park. We really do need to get ugly as possible out there to get results.

Correct. We have a similar income to Ajax who were comfortably knocking it about against Real Madrid a few days ago. Albeit they were eventually beaten 2-1 but they retained possession under pressure and caused problems for them, despite a huge financial gulf.

We could and should be doing much better at this level and I mean that for the whole club. The players can perform much better, the scouting should be doing better, the manager should learn to be more pragmatic and on occasion adapt to our opponents and our board could stop hording cash when there are glaring deficiencies on the park.

Yes, yes it can, the leagues they play in have been moving with the times, ours hasn't.

Beating teams like Leipzig is an exception now in todays climate. Just because we've punched above our weight doesn't mean we will be able to continue to do so. Eventually you get found out.

It's crazy to think we can live on past success and have that mean something now, Lennon's final season in europe was utter * BTW.
