Scott Sinclair!

Discussion in 'Ex Players' started by TicFan88, Aug 6, 2016.

  1. And our only left winger

  2. Doesn't say much for our forwards then.

  3. He often occupies the role of a cf though, Devlin. Come on man, you telling me he'd have as many goals if we had a more traditional cf like Robbie Keane in the team? I'm thankful for Sinclair's contributions, but I'm more frustrated with the team than anything and I think this 'stat' is a large part of why we're failing to flourish at the minute. Brendan didn't sign 3 forwards for nothing and keep Scott on bench at the start of the season. I'm sure he knows this needs to be addressed.

  4. and he should he got 2 goals Saturday and was only denied a hat trick by another "honest mistake" offiside call.

  5. Our only out and out forward is injured.

He doesn’t ‘often’ play up front, he has a handful of times. Robbie Keane played as an out and out striker and would be comparable more to Edouard in our system.

Robbie Keane playing Sinclair’s position for Liverpool was rank * rotten.

You think Sinclair’s goal rate from left wing is why we’re failing to flourish?

  6. Laughable the stick this guy gets. He isn't anymore inconsistent than Forrest. Forrest has been frustrating to watch for years. Sinclair's goals ratio from left wing is brilliant. I don't buy into all this pish about tap ins either, he has an awareness in the box that we could only wish edouard had.

  7. Forrest hasn’t been frustrating to watch for years now. The reason Sinclair is frustrating now, is the exact reason Forrest was frustrating for years before Brendan came in.

Lack of effort, lack of fight and hiding on the pitch. Lack of bravery.

All very easy things to work on.

  8. That's where most of his goals have come from this season. Problem here is he has deserted his position on the left wing and at this time that leaves us with just Izzy to attack and defend down the left side. Not the most appealing of scenarios.

For me play him as striker or drop him based on his current form

  9. But when the chips are down Forrest is still nowhere to be seen.

His record and general performance in the derby are a disgrace.

  10. Pretty sure he’s set up about 6 goals against them in Rodgers tenure here. Also one of our best players in Europe consistently.

100% disagree with that, he’s never a man short now.

  11. Sinclair should be featuring strongly in these stats. Interesting that the guy who plays the deeper role on his side of the field appears to be (statistically) more creative.

Oh, and I hate his ridiculous hairstyle.

There - I said it... and I feel better for it.

    * Badger-imitating *!

  12. As Gabriel pointed out below, I said the 'role' of cf. Even when he is supposed to play LW he usually meanders and occupies spaces that a better finisher should find himself in.

  13. There’s few players in our team that scores more than him, especially with Eddy out as well. He’s done excellent to pick up the slack while we haven’t had a striker.

Not something to criticise him for in my mind.

  14. Devlin that's why I said:

Give us another left winger and a proper striker and we'd be a much better team.

  15. I don’t disagree with that mate. Sinclairs goal return though is excellent for a left winger.

  16. You've got Burke , Johnstone and Forrest all capable of playing their also maybe Weah an Eddy when fit

  17. That's 6 in his last 4.

    GOAT.
