Christie’s spot to lose just now imo.

Christie isn’t playing Rogic’s position. When Rogic doesn’t play we’ve nobody that drops into the spaces, can turn quickly and face people up and drag defenders about. Allows him to be a focal point and Eddy to wander about and do his thing.

It’s no surprise to me when he got fit we started to play well as a team. He’s the link that Christie, Eddy, Forrest and Sinclair play off of. He’s the guy always in space for a pass from McGregor, Benkovic or Boyata.

The 1 player I’d say is absolutely essential to our style of play. Without him we don’t have that same sorta movement, a lot more static and disjointed. He makes us tick for me.

I didn’t mention a position, I mentioned their spot in the starting 11.

So you’d change the formation that has been doing well for us then? Or like I said, change Christie’s position?

I’d keep Christie where he’s been playing.

    Christie as AM.

    Broony nowhere near taking shots.

That’s where he normally plays, he’s been deeper due to Broony’s injury.

Yes, so where he’s played his best football for us and where he’s been phenomenal in this role.

So he's not currently a squad player, then?

I must say I'm in between on this one. I agree with Minty that he's not a squad player, principally because he tends to play the big games. I don't think Brendan sees him as a squad player either, the only time he's missed games is when he's been truly honking.

On the other hand, I agree with Devlin that the idea of him being a squad player is not laughable. There's an argument there to be made. Jeannie is not usually known for having truly daft opinions.

Would he make our best 11? IMO he would.

    Gordon

    Lustig Boyata Benkovic KT
    Broony McGregor
    Forrest Rogic Sinclair
    Edouard

Harsh on Christie and Ntcham; but your best 11 is not necessarily your 11 best players. Balance is also important.

It's a position we have to look at spending some money on. Needs someone breathing down his neck.

Right now Morgan and Johnston aren't. Which was my worry in the summer when we didn't add significantly.

I'd say both of the latter are at least a year or so of regular first team football elsewhere from having a serious impact with us.

    I didn’t say he is.

    But he should be.

Balance is important but Christie brings far, far more to the team right now than Sinclair does.

So if that means moving McGregor to left wing to keep Christie in the centre, so be it.

Fair do's mate. I don't agree; but that's a reasonable opinion TBF. Luckily, I'm sure Brendan knows which of us is right. :56:

I don't necessarily want it to happen. But if the choice was between...

    1) Sinclair LM, McGregor CM and Christie on the bench

    2) McGregor LM, Christie CM and Sinclair on the bench

I'd go for option 2 every single time.

Genuine question, mate: do you really think Sinclair is that bad?
