That sorta game, 100mph is never going to be his cup of tea, even when he was at his best. We all know we need a new RB but right now he’s playing his part, he got away with one tonight, had a wee mini resurgance in form. He can still be useful and I think we should get off his back, guy gives his all for us and always has. Is it his fault we didn’t get his replacement in the summer? Naw.

He was decent in he first half because we had control, but in the second during peiods where we were under pressure he could not handle it. At fault for their goal, gave the ball away will poor passing, was sliding in too much. Worst was when he didthat back heel just outside our box and gave the ball away in dangerous territory, have to stop doing stuff like that and taking chances. Even Boyota has cut those stupid decisions out of his game, when in doubt just boot the ball away.

He is no longer good enough for European competition. Goalkeeper and right-back are glaring weaknesses for us at that level.

    Utter dug *.

Glaringly obvious that he’s the weak link every time we come up against decent opposition.

If we play like that in every European game, with a top class right back, we’ll win the * World Cup.

Think we are all agreed that he loves the club with a passion and always gives his all but his best days are behind him

Starting to remind me of an old boxer who just wont hang up his gloves and is living off past memories

Don’t want to be too negative, especially after a great result. But as other have been saying, he was iffy at best last night for large parts of the game. I’ve been saying it for ages now, we need a new RB back badly, especially for European games.

Their was no excuse though for the way he stopped dead outside the box and allowed the guy forward their being slower but still being able to track back and their is being a dirty lazy * unfortunately lustig comes into the later category

In fact it certainly wasn't lazy and it wasn't his legs, it was mental tiredness and he just didn't read it. IIRC their guy peeled off Boyata into Lustig's zone and Lustig didn't anticipate it. In Europe, you must anticipate; there's no time to react. It was a mistake, not getting done for pace or anything and TBH he's not prone to that kind of poor positioning (except when played at CB), so I'm not personally reading too much into it other than that he was tired.

He had an absolutely storming game first half.

Maybe not done at this level; but it is clear he can't last more than maybe an hour at that pace. Not ideal, but it is what it is. Still love the big, daft *.

It's clear as day they are the 2 weaknesses by a country mile..

Gordon is a decent keeper but his distribution is an actual disgrace. I'm no even talking about under pressure either. He regularly gives it to the opposition with no one near him..

Lustig. Can still be a * option and outlet domestically and solid enough which we've seen lately but against anyone half decent, any ball slipped or crossed in behind him and he is left wanting...majorly. Forget the defensive side. The telling signs for me that his legs can't do what the mind wants is when he done a flick outside our box second half that would've been great if he pulled it off and just outside their box second half a reverse ball inside...both to a Leipzig player putting us back under pressure..

Imagine we had someone with pace who could bomb up and support Forrest in the same mould as KT on the left? We'd be frighteningly dangerous..

If I'm being pernickety, a left winger/inside left forward would also be a major plus for us..

Good first half. Very poor second half.

Like most people are saying, he’s our biggest weakness of the outfield players.

It might be less of a problem if he were an attacker, but we need our defenders to have a good 90 minutes or more for us to be competitive at that level - particularly when we have no competent back-up.

If Benković and Boyata are to remain our first-choice centre-back pairing until January, perhaps Ajer could deputise for Lustig.

We need to bring in another right-back in January, for his sake as much as ours. We all want his time here to end on a high note.

Thought he was excellent the other night and like all the other Defenders were brilliant.

The goal was a culmination of 3 players, Augustin is a centre forward and was being marked by Boyata, Sinclair didn't cover the wing correctly and Lustig shoulda just came into centre and not assume Boyata would stick with his man. Had Bruma in his pocket and great last ditch tackle to put off Kampl, hardly any crosses made it passed him.

Since he's had that armband on he's looking like the old Mik, pace will always be an issue, just ask Jamesy Forrest opponents.

Cant say I recall him doing much wrong, but guess it's the usual * in here.

Only player who could actually cross the ball.
