I would take Shane Long.

 

Massive downgrade on Dembele and isn't a goalscorer..

Link up play isn't great either from what I've seen..

If he was to come in though, he's quick and would do a lot of donkey work that frees up Edouard and Griff. Wouldn't give defender's a second pressing from the front which is something we've been lacking more often than not lately. Good in the air also, leap wise..

I'd rather we got another defender in. Unless Shane is willing to come in on low wages.

 

I could live with Long. He’d do the business in Scotland. And that’s where our bread and butter is seems. Board doenst show any higher ambitions. So Long would be sufficient for the SPL.

Gallagher is pish..

 

Definitely, losing dembele to get long would be a huge loss for the style of our team. I have no doubts long would do well here but we'd be losing a lot more than we gained.

Also, if it's Gallagher I'd be a bit gutted, I don't think he'd suit our style at all.

Aye Dembele is a top finisher, excellent link up and hold up play..

Long is better suited to counter attacking side's with space in the channels and in behind. Up against 10 men behind the ball against Killie wouldn't be his game I don't think..

 

Albeit probably a few sub appearances, but 7 goals in 79 for the last two seasons. Absolutely not for me.

Shane Long is the type of forward to play for counter attacking teams, not a team trying to break down packed defences.
