Comments like this go too far. Seriously, why is he a *? Because he signed a 1year extension. I don’t recall him wanting to leave.

I don’t really see why fans hate him so much. He could of * off last year after his best ever season as a pro. He stayed and signed a new deal. Which meant he couldn’t leave for nothing this summer. What’s the problem? He could quite easily do the same this season. Ye never know.....

See if we can do a straight swap for Paddy Roberts:rofl:

  4. Boohoo..

You don't recall him wanting to leave? Brendan practically had to beg him to stay and used all sorts of tactics publicly in doing so..

I wish he did * off last year. He hasn't kicked a ball for us all season and has used his time to go under the knife and sit out for month's before his summer move..

Think if he goes he'll be this year's Gary Hooper, moving around bang average English sides winning * all and probably fighting relegation(Hope that comes across bitter)

Armstrong is dead sexy and we'll all be sad to see him go, but there's no need to take it quite that hard.

The length of the contract he signed was a confusing one.. seems to benefit nobody..

PL will sell him now and cash in even if it’s not the dream Armstrong coveted, Armstrong has pushed us into a corner and he will be punted.

I think Armstrong hoped he would attract better offers with a good year in the SPL/CL. This might also benefit us with a higher fee. Unfortunately it has backfired with an anonymous year

I think Brendan viewed him as a major part for us getting through the qualifiers. A years extension would have suited everybody if that was the case.

With the amount of time and posturing it took.. there’s absolutely no way a one year extension was what we were after..

Nah, we would have wanted more but if it was between that and punting him before the qualifiers? It would have been a happy ending for all parties.

5 year deal would have been on the table last season ..hes went ill sign a 1 year extension on higher money ..now he probably wants to be a top earner.

Aye a compromise was reached.. think now he’s backed himself into a bit of a corner as we will be actively trying to punt..

We knew this would be the scenario again in this window, talking about his future.. the uncertainty hasn’t helped his form..

It may be the that we tried to insert a large buy out clause but he could have still have gotten his move if he had signed a 3yr deal..

Just want him gone now and get the cash in the bank..

  15. I thought when he signed the year, we'd of punted him in the January to maximise his sale..

Then he went under the knife just before the window opened..

Still doesn't sit well with me..

  16. He needs to go now.

Hooper was in last year of deal we got £5.5m for him as a striker so anything in today’s market around £4m plus is a deal with a year left for me

  19. He still has plenty to improve on. 5 million plus add ons.

aye but he's not working under Brendan one of the most modern and attacking managers in the game, He will have to pick his club well ,otherwise he will just become a forgotton player in a defensive team fighting relegation at the bottom of epl collecting a better wage.
