He's certainly got the potential to be top class, definitely got the ability just not the consistency. Can see him going down south and ending up having a great 1 season then disappearing out the limelight

we got 5.5 million for hooper when he was on last year of contract.plus palace are known to spend a lot of money, and they are a lot richer than norwich.apparently starting at 4 m,i think we cin get them up to 6m with an added clause.

    I’d take 4m and a 10% clause.

papers are about month behind :)
people are asking if he wants to stay, facts are he's on holiday and not got another offer from Celtic yet. He's not long bought a house in Glasgow so I'm not sure he wants to leave at this point . But he does want to play in the premiership.

But the offer is trebling his wages, signing on fee plus add-ons. Its not all about the money though.

    Ill keep you posted

If he wants to move down south then get as much as we can for him and move on he does offer an energy in midfield and a goal threat but I would think we could get someone to replace him

I would rather £5m in front. I have a feeling if he moves to the EPL he won't make it. If we cover Edouard's fee then in my opinion we are getting a player who can operate at a higher level and has plenty of room for improvement for a player in the last year of his contract who looks out of his depth in Europe

Get him gone and bring in James McLean, overloaded with centre midfielders and McLean would compete with Sinclair for a start, he's gone give 100% for sure and appreciate where he is unlike Armstrong

    He's 26.

Potential to be top class...I'm unsure on that. A very good player on his day.

Now, Ntcham. He has a much higher ceiling, is 4 years younger and most definitely has the potential to be top class.

There seems to be a lot of negativity surrounding armstrong in here ,anyone wanting him gone and sold for 4 /5 mill does not really get his importance to us and how we missed him going for 7 .

He was the difference to the 2 ba ks of 4 we struggled with this season ,he breaks the lines by commiting and making things happen, we could not buy a player who would be ready to fit into that role like that ,br knows his worth and is playing a great tactical game with him in regards to getting him onboard and signing ,he is a vital member and would be a huge asset in europe this year being clear of the hernia, but more importantly knowing how our team plays .

Have Celtic really missed him when he was out injured?

Yes ,more draws more defeats , struggled more breaking teams down ,he improves us without a doupt ,we need as many goal threats as possible ,ncham is not the same type of player and would not replace armstrong .

    EXCLUSIVE: STUART ARMSTRONG BIDDING WAR
AS CELTIC OPEN DOOR FOR EPL CLUBS TO MOVE FOR MIDFIELDER.

Brighton and Crystal Palace are among the sides keen on Scotland star and Celtic will not stand in his way of a move this time round.

Celtic are ready to open a bidding war by cutting Scotland midfielder Stuart Armstrong loose this summer.

Brighton have joined Crystal Palace in the race for the midfielder’s signature as he eyes a dream Premier League move, with Southampton also maintaining their own long-running interest and relegated West Brom a contender.

And Celtic won’t stand in his way this time around after a six-month stand-off last year saw him sign a one-year extension to his deal.

Both parties are back in the same boat with a year to go on his contract.

This time it’s believed the club will encourage offers rather than let him ride out the deal and go for nothing at the end of the season.

They are not expected to attempt to extend his stay beyond 2019 with another offer.

The 26-year-old only started 15 league games last season and came off the bench 12 times as his
influence on the team diminished with the impact of Callum McGregor.

With Aussie playmaker Tom Rogic also penning a new five-year deal, the six-cap midfielder faces another season as a bit-part player rather than a key man.

Boss Brendan Rodgers also hinted back in March that he wouldn’t welcome another impasse with
    Armstrong this summer.

The Celt was dropped amidst a loss of form and a row with his agent Liam O’Donnell over his quest to land a club down south. And the manager admitted he didn’t mind letting the player enter his final year without another contract battle.

Asked about Armstrong’s future, Rodgers told MailSport : “Players are within their rights.
“If they feel the deal or the offer is not right or just purely if they don’t want to sign.

“But it goes two ways. If it’s not right for both parties then it’s not going to happen
“It’s hard to have a squad that’s going to be complete and together for a number of years.

“Some are happy to see out their career at Celtic, others think they want to stay, then get a big offer and they go.
