    even if we made a multi million CB signing theres no guarantee we'd negotiate past Zenit, that leaves the domestic scene wich we are running over the top of anyway..

    in the summer we will need to add one or 2 higher quality for CL qualifiers though 3-4m like we did last summer.. but even if we don't im sure brendan will negotiate them

    There is no way im I buying the "we're saving our money for the summer" bullshit, heard it many times before and when the summer comes we spend the bare minimum as usual. Would like to have seen us buy a proven quality defender in the 4-5 million bracket. We have the money to do that.

    I wasn't around in the early 90s but I'm well aware of it. Doesn't mean I don't want us to strive for better though nowadays.

    Could have them 3/4 million players types in now settled into the side for the qualifying rounds and give us a much better chance no?

    In all honesty I'm not thinking that we where gonna get a result with Zenit anyway and got a * draw.

    But it would have been nice for the first time ever going into the second half of the season with that extra bit of quality that we should be adding.

    I don't have confidence in our defence in Europe. We haven't addressed this issue and I don't see us getting a result because of it. Plus I'm sure we will suffer further injuries during the run in as well.

    These are special times but if the board does not back the manager the special times could go downhill.

    A 32 year old who is always injured and ineligible for Europe, a guy from St Mirren sent back to them on loan, a loan 3rd choice goalie from Dundee and a Chelsea youth player...on loan.

    Brendan needs to watch what he is saying when transfer windows open,seems to always promise that we will only sign quality players,then ends up signing more squad fillers,think Hendry will do well for us but we should have went for someone who could take our defence to a different level
