Olivier Ntcham

Discussion in 'Ex Players' started by Norm Peterson, Jul 12, 2017.

  1. I'm gonna say it once again, but, he is being played too deep.

Needs to be allowed to let loose a bit. Whether or not Rodgers is telling him to sit there or what, I don't know, but he looks a far more dangerous player when facing the opposition goal and driving.

  2. Eboue has been unlucky with injuries but Ntcham has already had more game time. And scored two winners in the SPL.

Both are still adapting to life here and what BR expects of them. Considerable investment has been made in both of these young players let's give them a fair and logical crack at it..

  3. I agree. He moved forward more when Rogic was on and looked more confident on the ball.

  4. You wanna believe he's played well in our CL group games then that's fine by me but you're only kidding yourself on. You sure ain't fooling me.

  5. 2/3 he hasn’t but one of those bad games he was by far the biggest reason we actually won it, which is promising from somebody that age. He has showed promise but naivety.

  6. Playing inconsistent yet setting up 2 of our 3 European goals is the sign of a player. I can promise you he will be a different player come the end of the groups

  7. Strange nobody has commented but he was actually very good yesterday. When we were playing our best football he was at the heart of a lot of it.

  8. Out for the bayern game with injury.

  9. Still think he's a player (still plenty to come from him with age though) and hopefully his injury isn't too bad.

  10. Actually thought he played pretty well yesterday

  11. I like him but he needs to start being more consistent throughout games. Which I'm sure will come.

I'm also not sure whether we have found his best position yet.

I seen Rodgers shouting at him twice to push forward more, I think the issue with positioning may be down to his own defaulting to being a deep lying playmaker.

When he’s in there with Broony or Eboue he should definitely be starting further up the park.

  12. He’s no a player.

    He’s a * pler.

  13. I think maybe he'll be better as a 10 until he's matured enough for the 8 or consistent with it enough..

His eye for a pass and quick turns I think would suit him there..

  14. Hard to tell if its the system we play that he isn't used to but consistency at a young age isn't always there, a lot of players take time to settle when they move to a new country.

  15. Aye that's the problem, he is sitting far too deep and at first I thought it was under Rodgers' own instructions.

He said himself when he signed that he prefers facing the opposition goal and wants to be on the front foot, and from his early time here his best play has came in a more advanced role.

He has all the attributes to be a class player, just needs tinkering and who better to do it than BR.

  16. He was a cam IMO he's only been put as cm because he won't get infront of Armstrong or rogic

  17. I can’t see him fitting in as an attacking midfielder ahead of Rogic, McGregor or Armstrong. His passing is good but so far his shooting hasn’t been great, bar his Dundee goal.

Think he would be better suited at centre mid/defensive mid due to his range of passing. He showed early promise there, just has to be more consistent and he will great there for us.

  18. And Thistle strike..

He's definitely capable. Some of his passing at time's has been sublime as well..

Rogic is never a player who will play 60 game's a season. Armstrong is for the off soon enough and McGregor can play a number of midfield positions..

I'd honestly give him a shot there next time Rogic is out and stick Kouassi with Broony behind. Good midfield trio that and see how it goes for a game or 2 with McGregor, Rogic and Armstrong to come in..

An away game with less pressure on him..

To be fair his goals at firhill, against Dundee got us out of a hole when no one else looked like scoring and his goal against Astana settled our champions league status when we went 4-1 down from 1-1 in 10 minutes and looked like we were hitting the self destruction button
At the moment a agree been a bit inconsistent , but seen signs he looks a player
