Few thoughts on the game. Brown looked unfit and I felt Rogic and Forrest should have started. However this is a team full of superstars we were playing. Muller, Lewandowski, Thiago, Robben, Coman and Alaba in particular being top players. It was an extremely tough game but again maybe BR got his tactics wrong. However to be honest just being in the champions league is our success and hopefully europa after xmas.

We got stuffed by a world class team

    away

who play in a vastly superior league

with enough money to buy our team ten times over and then ten times again

We were * tonight just like we were * against Psg

Its time we welcome the football Apocalypse

    Its over

    Not because we lost

Because we never had a chance

I used to watch every final now it's a total bore with the same old teams in the last 4. Last one I watched was Man U v Byern Munich which I think was in 1999. It was the first final to be contested by 2 teams that hadn't won their domestic leagues the previous season. Now outside Celtic I have no interest in the tournament at all. UEFA should just stick a price tag on the big trophy and be done with it: For sale, offers over £750million.

I've seen a lot of people question the "desire/commitment/fight" of us tonight.

For me that isn't the problem. The problem was our inability in possession, especially the 1st half. I don't have an issue with us wanting to play from the back and have Gordon trying to play to the full backs from goal-kicks. In fact I'm delighted that is our approach to the game.I thought we let ourselves down with the execution of it and the choices made both in our own half and also when we got into advanced areas around the Bayern area. 2nd half we improved on it, which was good to see.

If we are being critical then I think the we defended the 1st and 2nd goals poorly. Muller was quicker of thought and followed in the Lewandowski header. Quicker than any of our players. Kimmich had a free header, which he placed well. However we had 5 or 6 player getting drawn to defending the Coman attack, rather than picking up runners. Poor stuff.

Bayern have destroyed bigger sides like Barcelona and Arsenal by bigger margins than us tonight.

With regards to team selection, you could see why Brendan chose the side tonight. Roberts and Sinclair to alleviate the pressure on our defending. Although it probably left us a bit more open. We could have lined up in a 5-4-1 and still suffered the same outcome.

Boyata was the stand out performance for me.

Aye, it's a sore one to take and we could have done better in certain areas.

If anyone has any doubts about what Brendan has left to achieve as manager. Then tonight has many examples of instances which we need to improve on and what he's working towards.

For me it doesn't matter if we can't compete financially with these teams. We should be able to make basic passes. Our possession play was horrendous.

We go into games against bigger, richer clubs and * the bed. That isn't good enough, and isn't acceptable. We know we're better than we played tonight.

It's not good to watch wot happened tonight ,but there is a system and approach which will get us closer regardless of wealth diffrence ,we must aspire to be at this level not be happy to reach the Europa ,although on this ocation we were happy to accept if this was the case in the 2nd year .

Was a bit disheartened about the Home game with Bayern being a bit meaningless but just been reading up on the Europa league Round of 32.

Only the 4 groups with the most points from the CL groups will be seeded for the round of 32, so we need to try and get a win or at least something from the home game. As it stands we're in 6th position of the 8 third place teams meaning we wouldn't be seeded.

I love BR and the passing system and style that he demands from the team, but tonight and in other occasions when we are up against quality players/teams(specifically in Europe), we give them too much respect and our game suits them....early in the game their left winger had the ball on the touch line struggling to control it, Gamboa and wee paddy stood and watched him let him get it under control....if that had been a MON team with Alan Thomson, he would have had the Player and the ball * skelped into the stand.....putting doubt in the wingers mind not to come near again.
I just hope that BR can add that strength and nastiness when needed. I love the domestic dominance and treasure going for ten in a row...just disappointed in the European performances against the so called big teams, because I know we can do better.....sorry folks, don't want to be moaning, just the drink talking...but just looking for some meaty tackles to say, don't start yer pish wi us.
Big shout out to the fans tonight, fking tremendous...Hail Hail

Who gives a * about seeding in the Europa League, were playing to win that trophy imo. UCL is just us topping up the balance sheet the EL is where we will make a mark. Plus the big seeded teams play weakened sides.

I couldn't catch the game but I knew it was a tough job against a great team. However, having watched the highlights - I'm stunned at the goals we conceded - Sunday morning football!! With defending like that, Brentford could have scored 3 never mind Bayern Munich. Once again, out failure to invest in a CH last summer cost us - neither Lustig nor Biton can play CH against decent opposition outside the SPL. Jozo and Boyata are a decent pairing but Jozo can't be relied upon. We should have taken the alleged 9 million from Crystal Palace last summer. We need an experienced CH to come in in Jan (on loan if necessary). In the summer, we need to buy at least 1 decent CH and possibly 2 if we can get a decent offer for Jozo.

Never expected us to get anything from PSG or Bayern when we got the draw.

Let's be honest we all thought we can get into the Europa league. Nothing has changed, just because we beat Anderlecht 3 nil away does not mean we will go and get a result at Bayern.

We need to stay focused for the Anderlecht home game and make sure we get another 3 points or a draw so we have football after Christmas.

    What ?

Brown was absolutely hacked by Muller in the fifth minute but still fought hard till the end.

Might be wrong but Im certain Muller looked across at a teammate ( or the bench ) and smirked after getting away without even a caution let alone a card.

I thought we were showing way too much respect. Some of our players looked like they had shat their pants before the game.

our def looked dodgy, Kimmich and Alaba had a field day attacking our flanks. we couldn't hold the ball for 20 seconds and looked clumsy and scared when going forward.

But that is when you play a far superior team. Bayern are still an elite team.
