The biggest problem is that you know exactly what they're going to do, and you still can't stop it. The defensive AI is so messed up. There's little midfield battle now, it's just end to end goalmouth action, the very definition of arcadey. Pace is back with a vengeance after being perfect last year, one through ball to the speed-demon upfront is all it takes to carve out opportunities, it's not fun at all. It always feels like the defending side has 9 men with the amount of space given to the attackers. The balance is totally broken, EA have had a mare this year.

The guy I played never checked in on time, so I won by default. But I stupidly said it's sound we'll still play. * beat me :56:

Which is exactly why I hate FUT, all well and good that those who got it early managed to pump the thing dry and get mad players, but that was never going to stay that way or it makes FUT to easy and non profitable as that part of the game is all about spending real cash on the micro transactions.

It's why I don't understand the hype over it at all, people have already * spunked £50-£90 on the game and then are expected to drop £1 odd on packs for FUT, pure money grab and offers nothing in return.

If it weren't for the other aspects of FIFA like the pro clubs, journey and few other bits, this is nothing more then a £20 game a release and that should be evident when every year the focus is put onto FUT more and more every year

    Absolute joke so it is.
When originally released as a paid dlc, it was good.

Now, it's just a cash grab and unfortunately folk are too happy to drop their money on it.
Streamers with backing/sponsors are even getting favoured it seems and helping to push the idea of great packs and players being so great, that folk will drop literally hundreds extra on the game. Completely not worth it.

Even 2k have ripped the utter * out of microtransactions. Practically making it near impossible to do a my career mode right to the end and get full development of your player unless you drop hard earned money back in to the game, after you've already paid AAA game price on the thing.

What's the term, pay to win?

Absolute joke. Made worse that half the time these games are buggy as * and forced out before completion.
No game should ever be released with a * patch launched before the game for download.

It's absolutely pay to win, not that I play it but I'm as well as downloading * like clash of clans on phone and playing that and get the exact same * experience out of it.

Your point about bugs in games at release is also very true, sadly though for as long as the gaming biz makes pre orders more and more accessible and more appealing with the worthless shyte they add on for pre orders which they only make available two months after release any way, it won't change.

One of the things I miss most is old scholl split or proper in house multiplayer games, everything "multiplayer" now is online mostly, very very very few games offer multiplayer in the house.

Like even right now, it's not much to look at but I'm getting more enjoyment playing 7 days to die with the missus as it's split screen then I am playing fifa right now.

Agree fully about split screen and Co op play etc.

Absolutely gutting. I'm fully in to online play and love it, but there is a big loss with the split screen two player stuff dropping out.
Fifa lounge mode was one of the best features a few years back. Actively encouraged friends playing together and putting in some fun challenges as well.

Randomly drop that feature out. Wasted man.

Loved it, few beers and the lads around was good craic. Actually more surprised they never implemented that in to online.

The difference in how the game plays in ultimate team to normal online seasons is night and day! Feels like your players are on ice and can't trap the ball on ultimate team yet on online seasons everything is much smoother, a bit slower, much more realistic

Seriously what is it with English players in this game?

Every FUT champions game is filled with English players and that Rashford is some sort of usain bolt 8 foot man mountain that drifts through people in a blink of an eye.

Can ye tell um pure raging? :giggle1:

Yeah totally agree with that. Wasn’t sure if it was just me thought that. Game play is so much smoother and fluent on normal online seasons. Ultimate team feels the complete opposite. Probably explains why my online seasons record is so much better to my ultimate team record.

Been stuck in division 5 for ages on ultimate team. Then got relegated and got back up to division 5. Missed out on promotion 3 times when it came to the last game. Just played another season earlier today and got 7 wins out of 7. Won the title and finally got into division 4.

Ultimate team annoys me so much compared to normal online seasons. Always got to division 1 no bother but this year I have struggled on ultimate team. Completely different story on normal seasons, in division 4 I think and have won all the titles up to 4 so far.

Don’t know why I bother with ultimate team. It is so much effort and too time consuming to build a good team. I don’t buy packs because they are a waste of money. Normal Online seasons feels a lot more balanced whereas ultimate team is so one sided a lot of the time, constantly coming up against Gabriel Jesus, Rashford, Sane, Son etc gets very boring… and frustrating :triplomur

Probably has something to do with the over exaggerated importance of the team chemistry so it effects the style of the two different game types so drastically, when normal online play doesn't have the same mechanic it's bound to change the dynamic somehow.

People complain of FIFA being arcade like but I feel that is exclusively a fut issue as when playing anything else then that fut it feels more rewarding and real.

Defending and crossing is brutal though, I play a lot of pro clubs and used to be a beast of a defensive player picking tackles and reading the player, now though I'm just getting skinned as I'm still adjusting to the standing tackle power bar bullshit.

And the crossing, dear lord, thought it was meant to be better? It's * honking the old low whipped in double/tripple tap is utter dog * and is lucky to go 2 feet and the normal cross, you'd be lucky if don't curl back round and go towards the D.

I still enjoy the game right enough though but * this is worst I've seen a FIFA at release.
