Agree. I hope he does well and think he will be a useful addition but for me I don't think he was any better than what we had in Ryan Christie and would rather the 25/30 games he is going to feature in had went to him.

Hayes is a confidence player. He's been overwhelmed wearing those Hoops. There have been little glimpses of what he can actually do, but right now - what he's managed at Celtic - he would struggle to get into the Aberdeen squad!

I think Willo would have been amazing if had been allowed to play with a mini ball.
Normal ball always looked too big and heavy for him.

I don't think he's great at all.,, certainly no game changer. Should've kept on Forrest and then if Forrest goes tired replace him... He does be running and forgetting the ball

I think this is right. He looks to be a little lost at the minute and not playing with the same confidence he had at Aberdeen. I like him and was glad we signed him, but he hasnt settled in yet. Hopefully Mr Rodgers can get the best out of him.

I think he'll make a meaningful contribution this season. Not every player hits the ground running.

Heard someone say on the phone-in that he looks like an Aberdeen player in a celtic shirt and I don't think anyone could argue that he looks out of his depth at the minute.

Don't want to just the guy after 5/6 games but I can't seem him making the cut here.

Hopefully he can get it together and prove me wrong during the course of the season though!

Hayes a left sided and very effective player with Aberdeen getting shoe horned into Forrest's position is never going to work.

He'll be a useful squad player, which is exactly why he was bought.

The few attributes we know he has he hasn't had a chance to showcase for whatever reason. He's lightning quick, he can cross and he can score goals. We'll get it from him eventually, he's probably finding his feet still.

It's a big shirt to wear. I think there's a wee bit pressure on him due to the fact Brendan coached him previously and has now brought him to Parkhead. He won't want to let him down, let the fans (who clearly voiced concern about him signing) down, let himself down.

If you're reading this Johnny...you're best bet is to do what Forrest doesn't do. Like, cross a ball and have it find your own team mate, beat your man and then do something productive. :)

Yeah, fans booing at half time doesn't help a player already feeling the pressure either. There's clearly more to come from him but he needs to take his chances. It won't take much to keep Forrest out ffs Johnny!

1.3m is a bit much for a 30 year squad rotation player isn't it? Seen big Derk Boerrigter has retired, maybe we should pick him up on a free:boxing:

Looking lost , overwhelmed those are more than fair and considerate reviews for him to date.

I had big hopes that he would really add something, but have to state to date that I hope it is just the overwhelmed that has him looking usually so out of place.
In the chances he has had so far, he appears to have no clue about what runs he should be making if any, he looks static and not part of the team.

He has had only a few chances to date, but he has had a few chances to impress and he has not taken them.
The limited chances he has had for Ireland he has looked good enough, but thinking again, aside of Robbie Brady! Ireland has no real star players, so maybe he feels comfortable enough.
Celtic currently has some real stick out quality, and he must know about Roberts likely coming back.

I fear Johnny may be the sort who revels swimming as a bigger fish in a small pond, in that environment he feels confidence and his abilities thrive.

I hope he makes it as he has ability and he is Irish.

I think you're right. No pressure at Aberdeen in comparison to Celtic. No double-thinking, no second-guessing, just beat your man and make things happen. That's all he needs to do, but he's stuck in mud at the moment.

On the contrary, you might see him get played in his natural position now as back up to Scotty and KT.
