    He's just pointing out that there are players who would only come for the CL and not so much the honour at the chance to pull on the hoops. Players who are thinking beyond Celtic before even joining. Totally understand him.

    Aye, I understand that but as it's been previously said, those better quality players are only going to come if we're in CL..

    Patrick Roberts: But I'll also get to test myself in 4 games against some of the best players on the planet at Bayern and PSG, plus a couple of games against an Anderlecht side that are comparable to a decent EPL side, gain valuable big match experience, possible Europa League run after Christmas...

    You disagree? Domestically we are more than sorted but in europe if we want to progress and be in the competition after January then defensively we need to improve.

    I hope coetzee does well but he is untested and although he could come amazing (always does in fifa) id rather play all 3 teams with a known cb who is tested at a higher level and a rb to replace lustig while we wait on Ralston developing

    As it stands this has been a disappointing transfer window. The first 11 isn't any stronger. Ntcham has strengthened the midfield but Hayes is a step down from Paddy. The squad if anything is slightly weaker. The squad is obviously way good enough to dominate Scottish football and I realise we cannot afford to challenge the top earning European teams but with 6 days to go I really would like to think we will strengthen the first 11 given the money we've been coining in. Suppose you could argue that there is no need to improve the team if it's already good enough to win domestically and get into the CL groups, but football iis entertainment, be nice to get the best entertainers possible.

    Stopped at this point. The guy will struggle to make the bench this season and has yet to be anything but poor and terrified looking in the hoops.

    Sometimes people claiming to be "realistic" are just being overtly negative and ignoring reality, but saying "being realistic" is a way to put that across without being blatantly pessimistic.

    We've said openly we can break our transfer record. Our income is far higher over the last year and a bit than it was in the 3 years before that. Every source says Ntcham cost 4.5mil PLUS add-ons.

    But I'm just being realistic.
