It doesn't need the shock death factor anymore. If anything that's a cheap thrill. It's just a fantastic TV show from top to bottom.

The trailer for the 7th episode is good. I need that leak. Going to be so strange seeing certain people interact after such a long time.

I agree to an extent. I feel like much of this is a result of the fact that the story is crammed into 7 episodes instead of 10 though.

But at some stage you have to move past the slow burner stage as each of the story arcs come to a head. We're coming towards the end of the story so that isn't really unexpected.

My only issue was the timing of the rescue from Benjen, a wee bit convenient

I do agree they have rushed this season. 7 episodes, being 1 hour each on average, doesn't make up for the season being 6 episodes shorter. Should have at least made it 10 episodes. Been great tv again this season but felt they have lost out a bit on some character interaction.

It's 3 episode shorter. Every season up until this one has had 10 episodes.

Seen a theory that longclaw can be warged into and that was how benjen knew through the bran watching on through that and alerting him somehow.

Had it in my head they were usually 13.

Anyway would rather have 10 episodes!

I don't mind them rushing through a bit but theres been things a bit off compared to past seasons, the past seasons seemed to flow well and you couldn't really question anything or have thought things could have been done differently or better.

I feel like the writing has been very simple this whole season, everyone saved at the last minute Jon, Jamie, Jorah. Everyone meeting each other but no real good story to them meeting. I think there could have been a better storyline to get everything done thats been done so far with more curve balls in it to make them more interesting as theres really been no tension at all.

The fat guy with the lassie who was breaking in to that thing to read stuff etc done it simply without getting caught, treated Jorah with no problem, Tyrion sneaked in and out of Kings landing with no fuss despite now being enemies who want each others Queens dead they just got on fine. Jon and Daenerys deciding to meet and just getting on fine, no worrying about each other despite having never met. The hound etc going up to the wall to go through obviously with no care to the people there wondering who they are. The old woman happily committing suicide with the pill without trying to fight with Jamie or anything. Theon jumping into the water to escape as well, in reality someone would have just jumped in and dragged him back on or how long did he survive probably in freezing water before he was rescued.

It's the only season where everythings happened seamlessly and predictably and left some things open to questioning like why did the Night King not throw spears at all the dragons, or at Jon Snow when they were stuck there or why didnt he raise the guy that died with Jon Snow to his own army like he done before. The writing should probably have been different to avoid things like that.

    Okay, let me try...

    1) The fat guy is called Sam, or Samwell. He's only been in it since the start.

    2) Tyrion and Jaime get on fine because they have always loved each other...plus Jaime had just had it confirmed to him that Tyrion played no part in Joffrey's death. There was tension, then Tyrion broke it by cracking a joke and reminding Jaime of how strong their relationship was.

    3) Did you miss the whole "bend the knee" * between Jon and Dany? Although they weren't fighting, I wouldn't say they got on "fine". They were sceptical of each other but Tyrion (who trusts both of them) vouched for both parties.

    4) Why would anyone care who The Hound is? They were captured and imprisoned. Every * knows who he is.

    5) The old woman - Olenna - "happily" committed suicide because the alternative would have been something a bit more painful. Jaime and his army had just wiped out the Tyrell forces, therefore there was nothing she could do.

    6) Euron probably left Theon behind because he was there to capture Ellaria and would have thought Theon is a *, therefore he left him behind.

    7) The Night King, in my opinion, was * with Jon. He threw a spear at a moving dragon to put the fear into the group.

    8) By the guy that died, are you talking about Thoros? Well how could he raise Thoros from the dead? The Night King brings back Wights. Thoros hadn't become a Wight before he was torched.

It's all just been a bit too simple for me compared to what we seen in the past though, like the storyline hasn't really mattered they've just wanted to rush through to set up the final season but they could still have rushed through with a bit more of the same quality and tension of past seasons.
