He's had more than enough time and if you heard BR after the game yesterday he said as much as well. When the guy that sees him everyday in training and knows what's going on with the contract talks i.e length of them etc is saying he needs a yes or no asap and the uncertainty is affecting his performances them i'm inclined to believe him. So those guys like yourself that are saying that he needs more time and he's playing well are going against what the manager himself is saying

I never said he needs more time, I said these things take time. I'm quite happy with Brendan putting pressure on him to sign sharpish.

He was playing better last season, I still think he's contributing to the team though. Do you not think so?

Still contributing yes but i can see his performances slipping. Want him to sign but he's taking the * now and i think BR is getting a touch peeved with him. His career has been transformed by BR from a guy that looked like he was heading out the door a year ago to a player really starting to fulfill his potential. Some common sense should prevail on his part, he's onto a good thing under Rodgers here. If he moves now I can see him being an under performing bit part player again.

I don't disagree really mate, cept we probably shouldn't have thought he was a left winger for 18 months. Could have been developing a lot earlier if not for that stupidity.

Think Rodgers is trying to pressure him into signing, not out the door.

Stuart Armstrong wants to stay at Celtic despite the protracted saga of his unresolved contract talks, Brendan Rodgers said on Saturday night. The Scotland midfielder has attracted the attention of several English clubs, with Southampton reportedly prepared to make a £3 million bid, but the Hoops manager believes the 25-year-old will not regain the form which made him a standout in midfield last season until the negotiations are settled.

“You can see it in him,” Rodgers said. He’s a very conscientious boy, Stuart. He’s not one of these boys who can just play and not think and worry.

“I genuinely think he wants to be here at Celtic. He just wants it resolved and he probably wanted it resolved six, seven months ago. For whatever reason, it hasn’t.

“It has affected him. I think for him, because he’s a great lad and I love and enjoy working with him, it’s starting to take its toll on him a wee bit.

“Hopefully we can get that resolved and he can settle down again and find that stability and find that form he was in for about seven months of last season.”

If he wanted it resolved 6/7 months ago then I am genuinely confused as to why it hasn't been.

Brendan should stop talking about it now. He's said his piece and the more Brendan talks about it, the more confusing and contradictory he's becoming trying to defend Armstrong who is big enough to handle his own choices..

Chris Sutton hit the nail on the head for me on Friday night. Lets not forget that he has only had 6 good months at celtic. We obviously don't know the ins and outs but to me it sounds as if his agent is trying to get more money out of the club and while that is his agents job to get the best deal for his client, it sounds to me as if he feels as if after only 6 months he feels he can dictate the terms of a contract for his client. No way. We always pay our players what we think they are worth and if he has an absolute stormer of a year this year who is to say that brendan won't tell the board to boost his wages?

I wonder how he feels now that he's sitting on the bench watching Nctham playing. I wonder if he would of started the season the bench if this contract craic wasnt happening?
