Was only a matter of time before Brendan's coat was on a shookly peg, he's had a lucky run. :fear:

Tbf if the pen was given we would have drawn the game because of a Bitton defensive error..

They are genuine concerns over Bitton in that position and it wasn't just the pen last night, he lost Doolan who should have scored with his header.

The only blessing is that the lapses happened v Thistle and not Astana, it gives us time to put things right..

Poor performance, slow passing, nervy and just looked generally off-colour. That's got to be a positive though - Winning when playing poor is why we are champions.

Bitton at CB is not working, he isn't a natural defender and it gives our opposition the confidence to try and expose him as our weak-link.

    Hoping Wednesday is much better.

    Job done tonight (Just).

We actually have to play decent opposition Wednesday. It's not often that we play teams capable of exposing us or making anything go wrong for us.
We also haven't been in this position before with only one centre back. So it's the first time Brendan has had to make this call. He's getting it wrong. Thistle were able to show that last night and they are pish.

Using 'if' isn't an argument against Brendan Rodgers. 'If' the corrupt officials didn't 'miss' a handball in a Hampden semi, Ronny Deila 'might' have had a Treble and Rodgers might not even be here.

You don't know Bitton will play on Wednesday in the first instance and if he does it's because he trusts him more than Ajer or Lustig being converted there and someone else filling in at right back.

I personally can see exactly why he isn't just dropping Ajer in there, he massively lacks experience. Not just at centre half but overall - a couple of rash tackles against Rosenberg that didn't need to be made were completely forgot about.

Yes that's the problem. It looks like he trusts bitton at centre back right now as opposed to lustig playing there and Gamboa at right back. About 3 games now we've played with bitton at cb where we could have settled in that back 4 of gamboa-lustig-jozo-tierney.
When Erik went off in trondheim we all thought the obvious swap was Gamboa and that still is the case.

Would take a full season to complete 90 mins, if we are giving fouls for that type of contact every time.

"It's a foul anywhere else on the pitch," said Archibald. "It's a big call in the last minute against Celtic.

For the amount of contact, it most certainly wouldn't/shouldn't have been a free-kick. Numerous instances throughout the 90 mins would support that in favour of either team. Storey makes a meal of it, not on the same level as Schalk last season. But with the same intent.

You are right of course, I'm making light of it a bit but to be completely serious this whole thing troubles me, what do they define as being worthy of the volume button? and even more importantly who is the judge and jury on what is deemed suitable for "censorship"?

I really hope this is not connected with Celtic in any way, I find it unlikely but wouldn't rule it out but this whole business is more indicative of a Scotland governed by people who only allow free speech when it corresponds with their view of the world...There's a word for that

    Good job
Great news, so we just play like we did last season and the treble is ours again, brilliant stuff

Have you thought about getting into management, your wasted pal :101:

Sorry mate that's bollocks, it should have been a pen and we would have drawn the game, because of Bitton's challenge. And he lost Doolan who should have scored.

There are genuine concerns about him in this position going into the most important 180mins of the season.

I do agree that Ajer is still very raw looking in that position too, if we had another LB we could have played KT at CB, who's pace up against good pace would have been usleful. Not having cover at LB is another baffling one too we could have let Izzy go after the qualifiers.

I trust BR more than any other manager we've had going into these games, but it does seem we are taking unnecessary risk going into the tie. Albeit with some unlucky injuries..

I think he might opt for a back three with wingbacks on Wed,

    Lustig Simunovic KT
    Forrest Ntcham Brown Armstrong Sinclair
    Rogic
    Griffiths

Sinclair displayed the defensive side of his game well away v Rosenberg..

What's bollocks? That you can't criticise people based on whataboutery?

The concerns around Bitton are evident and real and something we can do something about, going into Astana.

Would you be happy with Bitton at CB after last night?

It's the comparison that's bollocks, one is consigned to history the other we can still do something about.

I'd be happier with Bitton than Ajer on Wednesday, yes. For reasons I've gave a few times. I think Ajer is developing all the time but he's not ready yet.

He may now play a converted 3 with Brown dropping in now though.

I actually enjoyed the game and the away fans are immense. Should have been 2 and a clean sheet. Heading into a CL tie that would have the players avoid heavy tackles. I thought Thistle set out and played well also.

Biton is still learning to play there ,only concern is slowing play to much and clearing when it's needed and playing out when that is the best way .

You can criticise them for making daft mistakes even if we get away with it.
