I have to say, the reaction to the flare and rebs on a couple of Celtic pages I'm on has worried me more than the performance/Bitton shambles tonight. I was never quite aware of how much of a split there is in the support over issues like these. The Celtic Blog page has dozens after dozens of self-righteous attacks on these things, from "kids with asthma" to "the RULINGS ,the * RULINGS!".

I'm venting, more than anything, because I know there's a much more sympathetic outlook here. But I also think it might be time for some sort of wide-ranging conversation over these problems. German fans have been having increasingly detailed and complex debates on the pyro thin, and we would do well to pay attention to those discussions. And the rebs need a new "manifesto", if you will, a restating of the political, socio-economic and cultural reasons for singing them. It would serve the support much better than just flinging insults at each other.

PS. Please, Christ, Brendan, no more Bitton at CB. No more Bitton anywhere.

Bitton did a lot right tonight but is clearly not a centre half. Sinclair was poor and Armstrong gave the ball away several times when he came on. It's a win and that's all that matters.

Ross County away, Hearts away, you get decisions for and against you. 2 penalties given, unwarranted, against the afore mentioned. Tonight it was our turn for that luck, love it.

Other than the Doolan chance and the penalty claim Thistle didn't create a clear chance and Celtic squandered the chances that came with a mixture of poor final ball and some poor shooting, Sinclair last season was cutting in and firing of shots do far this season he has passed the ball on more

Because of injuries. It's nothing to do with the board.

Rodgers has said himself he's not going to buy just because of injuries.

Football is a contact sport ,the thistle player ran across bitons stride and no way was that enough contact to send him down like that .the free kick at the corner flag when scott Sinclair got booted twice was the worst decision of the night. If biton is at cb on wed we are in bother

Always hair raising trying to defend a slender 1-0 lead but we deserved to win given the goal line clearances and opportunities we created, and Thistle are a difficult team, they beat St Johnstone 3-0 during the week away from home.Unbeaten run extended to 51 games and no new injuries ahead of Astana, downside but a question mark hovering over Bitton's head now.

For those who are in love.....
We were very very comfortable bar the header and last gap penalty..

Quite poor in the final third but still created a * load of chances/half chances..

1 nil is always a dodgy score at any level..
