Stuart Armstrong

Discussion in 'Ex Players' started by Xavier Woods, Feb 2, 2015.

  1. Is the team announced?

  2. A player of his ability would quite easily command £40-50k per week I would imagine.

Purely playing devils advocate here.. but he's got no real emotional attachment to the club, maybe feels as though he can't go further with the club and now is the time to go and earn big money while he still can.

Like I say I think it's a poor move, and he'd be far better staying where he is, but there you go.

I think it's probably more disappointing because of how much of a shock it's been, we were all just waiting for him to sign, don't think many would have seen this coming.

When you think of all the players who have come and gone, you could probably count on one hand the amount that have truly went onto better things, I'd be surprised if Armstrong was added to the list.

  3. Bit dickish of him if true, but at the same time we have plenty of options in midfield to fight for his spot if he leaves. Replicating his goalscoring form however, is something i dont see ntcham/eboue/benyu doing, which will be a big loss.

  4. Rogic is our best goalscoring midfielder. With him, Sinclair, Mouss and Griffith's I think we'll be fine for goal threats.

  5. I don't doubt that, and i do think ntcham will be a decent replacement, but it'll still be a big loss imo.

  6. Yeah of course, he was a huge part of our success last season, but it was a collective effort and mainly down to Brendan.

On paper, signing Ntcham for £4m from man city or Armstrong from Dundee united for £1m(?) is progress, so if Brendan can improve big Oli like he did Stu (and others) then we will not miss the quiff so much.

  7. No gonna do this Stu, be a good * like VVD and not even entertain offers until after the qualifiers

  8. Think this has went on long enough tbh. If he's not going to sign, punt him..

  9. Where are you hearing that he has been left out of the squad?

  10. He's on a booking, plus we have a new big money signing who deserves a chance amongst the first team. It's risk free game. Brendan would be crazy not to play Ntcham tonight, it was just a question of whether he'd leave out Brown or Armstrong. Brown's the better fit in front of a three man defence.

    Simmer.

  11. He's in the squad, on the bench.

  12. I cannot stress enough how important it is to have useless players coming off the bench.

Captain Brown and doctor venglos like this.
On a booking tonight no need to risk him.

  13. Makes sense to be honest. Forgot he got a yellow in the last game. Thought he had actually been left out completely from what people were saying!!

  14. He will also get a bit signing bonus, if a few teams like Burnley, West Brom, maybe even Southampton, Everton are in for him, he'll end up with about £5million just to sign as it's peanuts to EPL teams who will want him and he's on a free.
