Yeah want to keep Armstrong without doubt.
But would rather sell him for good money now if he doesn't want to sign a new deal than let him go for nothing. That would just be stupid especially when we have got lots of talent in the midfield area to give oppurtunities to.

Yeah would definitely want Armstrong and got Roberts back as well. :35:

If he does go we only have ourselves to blame in my opinion.

Who cares. If he leaves he leaves. Won't make the slightest difference to us winning or not.

How do you work that one out?

Celtic have made him and offer he has refused. Brendan will have given the board a value of wage he thinks Stuart is worth!

He has played 8 good months at Celtic out of 28 the other 20 months he was complete *!

No player is bigger than Celtic! Better than Stuart have found that out!

For all we know he's had his purple patch. He could revert to * next season. Punt.

If he goes ill be dissapointed but we have 2 maybe even 3 replacements ready to step in for the meantime.

If a deal cannot be reached and we can still get good money (£6-10m) then it is the only option.

Honestly thought negotiations would be smooth on this one but hey ho. Money talks. One good season doesn't make him irreplaceable, that's not even me being bitter either.

I still don't believe any Twitter rumours or anything, though. Just talking hypothetically.

If he has his heart set on leaving I'd bite your hand off for anything north of £8m. If you can get that and some money from Van Dijk moving on then I'd use it to buy Paddy.

Pretty pathetic and arseholish of him if he decides to leave after showing 6 months of good form out of the 2 years hes been here. Hes only started playing well in the last 6 months and now he (possibly) wants to * off?

Can't see how we are to blame in this situation.

Thing is he showed enough potential at Utd for us to buy him, his purple patch you mention at us is by no coincidence in his natural position, he will be a big loss no doubt but if he goes then the grass isn't always greener.

We as outsiders looking in can't possibly judge him, purely because we don't know the facts.

We could be offering £20k a week for example and a team like Southampton would double that, not including bonuses. At 25, even now, it could be his last chance to go to England, form, injury etc dependant.

Actually think he'd be a massive loss tbh. He contributes offensively and defensively, he's quick and has a great engine but it's his goals from midfield that's difficult to replace.

No way is it a purple patch..

Showed far too many qualities together over a consistent period for it to be this purple patch..

Another thing is, if the rumours are true that his head has been turned and he deffo wants away.....we still have a chance of coming back with something more lucrative whilst he's still our player..

I just want it done now at this stage. If he signs it'll feel like a new signing because of the the fear of losing him..

My opinion on him as a player is some turnaround..

fair enough if can get a contract on 50 / 60 grand a week , good agent, and if he goes on to be better good on him .... but its celtic I'm interested in and we will fine with the big transfer fee .

Hope he flunks his law degree if he leaves. That's not me being bitter.

Agreed. Not bald though. Just on top, so he has to comb his hair like Gregor Fisher's 'baldy man', trying to recreate his flowing locks with only 4 strands of hair on the top of his head.

    Not bitter though.
