squad/impact player for me guys as opposed to guaranteed first 11!!

don't think there's a player that's splitting opinion more at the moment....so *, debate's healthy!!

 

I really don't see what he hasn't done so far this new season to assume he can't cut it. He's also proved it in European competition in recent years against the likes of Fenerbache, Karagandy, and Ajax. People forget that he was outstanding early last season as well until Roberts regained form and fitness.

Think Jamesy's a good player, and deserves a bit more support from the fans. He's always been up against it, but I think he's proving under Rodgers that he has consistency and fitness in him.

 

Thought he was good. We like our wingers to cut inside and take shots, I wonder if it wouldn't be worth giving him a few games on the left, so he can cut inside onto his right foot.

 

Not a bad shout really. He is not bad with his left or even the outside of his right though.

 

For me he's too unreliable.

On his day can be really good, but has too many bad ones and I have to say I can't recall too many good Euro performances.

 

To be fair to him, I think he is is in top form or close to his top form based on the ability and football brain he has.

I'm just not sure he can improve beyond the level he is now. He just lacks a wee bit of guile and football intelligence.

 

Thought he was MOTM yesterday, are * actually unhappy with him?

 

If we want to be competing in Europe we need better than James Forrest on the right wing.

 

Mental how many people seem to dislike him and will never give him any credit.

See the same * happen with McGregor.

 

Set up a goal, and was unlucky not to get 2 himself. Then Hayes comes on takes a shot and goes out for a throw in. "Aye that Hayes looks better than forrest"

I'm convinced some people would criticise him for getting one assist and not two, then complain in the next game that he got two assists and not three.

There was very much a split on him last night. So everyone who didn't think he was great just doesn't like him and would never give him credit regardless of how he does? It's total bollocks.

I genuinely don't understand how people thought he was great last night.

 

Seen him getting criticised all preseason when I think he's probably been our best player in preseason, or one of the better ones.

 

He was comfortably our best player in pre-season. Just didn't have a good game last night.

 

You take my every post about Forrest as a personal slight.

There was * dunderheids claiming Hayes was better yesterday. That is not giving Forrest the credit he deserves.

 

Agreed..

Our support seems to reserve its harshest criticism for our homegrown players.

We should be encouraging them more.

 

It wasn't solely directed at you. Just in the general direction of people who can't understand that just because people criticise his performance, it doesn't mean we all hate the guy. It really * me off. It's the easiest and pishest excuse about.

He had a great pre-season. But I, along with plenty others, thought he was average at best last night.
