  1. I would be going for either Jerry St Juste or Derrick Luckassen on the back of the Boyata news.

  2. Rodgers has a habit of doing this I've noticed, evident last summer and January. Publicly states that one will be one by the end of the week, or the window. Nothing appears. Maybe a sign of Lawwell not delivering his signings

  3. We keep discussing CB's and I've mentioned him before and it would never happen in a million years but Jan Vestegaard would be about the most ideal transfer we could get in this summer, even over a winger or CM in my opinion.

The guy's massive, experienced, and can play the ball. Worth around £10M last time I checked on tm. He's the type we should be looking to get in. Would steady the ship at the back and then some.

We need someone of that mould at CB. Guys like St Juste and Duverne clearly have potential, but I think we need a veteran at CB rather than another prospect.

*Edit- The guys still only 24, just plays like he's 30. Came up from Denmark to play for Hoffenheim and Bremen before his big move to BMG. A market to look into further I think.

  4. Possibly. Making sure he's not blamed for something that's not his fault. Seen Mourinho doing similar there

  5. Practise the new 17/18 Lawwell oot songs lads.

I just hope we don't miss yet another opportunity to push on in Europe, through lack of investment in the squad.

Idioteque I’ll laugh until my head comes off

Whys everyone so keen on getting someone through the door? Our manger has stated the club is working on players. We have a good enough squad to get through the qualifiers, if we have to wait a bit for the right player I'd rather do that than sign someone who's gonna flop. Look at all the big clubs across Europe, how many of them have signed players who will improve their starting 11?

    Keep the faith :brendy:

  7. I could name half the teams in Europe tbh. It is clear the positive effect of getting players in early, giving them the time to fully integrate into the team.

  8. We have the perfect oppurtunity to trim the squad and get rid of some diddys and fringe players and add a handful of quality players. We just cant miss this oppurtunity to strenghen and get miles ahead of anyone in Scotland and go further in Europe.

  9. My thoughts exactly, if Desmond's aim for the upcoming season is to qualify for the knockout stages. It is clear he needs to invest...

Name a few ? Big clubs that have improved their starting 11? Lukaku to Utd is the only one I can think of.

  12. What mate, don't you not agree as mentioned many times, if we are to push on in CL . We need quality in.

  13. Arsenal, Man City, AC Milan, Everton, Liverpool, Bayern etc

  14. Most big clubs across europe have made big signings, Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City, man united, ac Milan, juventus, Napoli, inter, Roma, monchengladdbach, Dortmund, Wolfsburg , Bayern, schalke, Real Madrid , Valencia. They all have transfers of 20 million or more on individual signings

  15. Lacazette to Arsenal, Calhanoglu to AC, Benatia to Juve, Andre Silva to AC, Salah to Liverpool, Torpak to Dortmund, Coman to Bayern, Konoplyanka to Schalke, Lindelof to Man Utd, Silva to Man City, Paredes to Zenit,

  16. I think everyone knows that we shouldn't just be signing players for the sake of it. We also know that it is quality and not quantity we need. At the same time we have these qualifiers, which define our season. It's a certainty the team we get after Linfield will at least be tricky, so I was expecting something done a bit quicker. Brendan's been here a year, John Park supposedly left behind a world class data base, and Lee Congerton arrived in March. Our central defence has needed improved for a long time. Since the Martin O'Neil days it's been by far the weakest part of our team. Mjallby, Balde, and Valgaeren would all walk into our team. The best since then is Virgil, but everybody knew it was a matter of time before he left. Even the season he played with Denayer, we conceded I'm sure it was the 3rd highest amount of goals in Europe! I think it was 5 away in Zagreb alone. The defence was the weakest part of the Liverpool team as well. Sometimes you have to be decisive and have a good eye. O'Neil had only watched Valgaeren once, as a tv panel member at the Euro's and signed him a couple of days later. He admitted he had never even heard of him. Along with Paul Elliot he is the best defender we have had in my time watching Celtic. Even big Bobo, he had never watched or heard of him either but was recommended him by an Irish guy he knew that was based in Marseille. Nobody cares about excuses, it's about the bottom line.

  17. coman isn't a starter, Konoplyanka played 17 games last year, Benatia played 15

Think if we want to progress in Europe we need a top CB and a top RB a RW and probably a cm. If we're happy with the spfl and cl group stages we don't need anyone
