Anyone remember when Gordon Marshalls brother got a game for us against the Huns at Paradise?

We lost 0-3 and lost the league at the same time, it was his only appearance for us, in fact he only played 3 games in the 98-99 season (2 for Southampton and 1 for us)and he was on the losing end in all 3 of those games.

Now that was something to have a problem about, not Brendans son getting 45 minutes in a friendly.

I think people are just a little jealous that Anton
    1. Is Brendan's son and receives hugs and loving words from the gaffer, and
    2. Got to play for Celtic this one time in a friendly.

He actually wasnt that bad dont know why everyone is slating him, he had 2 misplaced passes but made quite a lot of good ones and slotted in pretty well.

Not good enough to sign for us probably but he didnt stand out as much worse than anyone else and if there was no one else in midfield to slot in then he can come in fine no problem.

People with a problem with it are the kind of people who have a problem with everything because they just love to moan

Would have been better taking one of the development squad and playing them.

I think people are reading into this far too much. Brendan Rodgers, is a complete Professional, there's no way he'd play his son if it meant a Celtic player missed out. He's just doing his lad a favour, to get some minutes under his belt so he can search for a new club. He's explained, Eboue and Ajer wern't available, as they would take full priority for obvious reasons.

It's a Pre-Season friendly, it's just an extended training session really, absolutely no problem for me. I'm sure I read Anton has kids in Reading down South, so he'll ideally look for a move closer to home.

There's more important things to worry about, like focusing on these Champions League qualifiers.

No story here - Move on.

I thought despite being slightly rusty he had some nice touches and looked composed under pressure, at times looked Rogic-esque. Hope he gets more time over the next few matches to see if he could cut it at Celtic.

There was no one else to play if you listen to his post-match interview for * sake and stop jumping on the bandwagon. Ajer and Eboue not fit enough and it was either the lovechild of Brendan and Paddy or else chancing someone getting injured playing a full 90. What exactly do you want him to do, pull some from the crowd to play just because it's not his son? Wind your neck in

Never got this hassle when Wee Jay stuck a penalty in against Hamilton.

He explained it post-match, we've a couple of central midfield injuries and he's looking for match fitness.

    Complete nothing issue.

Hope he doesn't sign. It's human nature to play your son ahead of anyone no matter what.
