We can all speculate all day and night but until our club come out and tell us it's not happening ,I will continue to hold out hope as we all should .

The thing is that next week we probably will not have more knowledge than we had last week, but lurking with the hope of the Kieran Patrick Bromance to continue is inevitable.

I'm worried I'm becoming a little obsessed with this deal, keep typing his name on the Google News bit, like every hour or so...

I think, this is a crucial moment for our club, I know this sounds a bit over-the-top but this would be such a pivotal change, we'd be taking such a huge step. Not only would be be getting one of the finest Wingers in the Continent, it would send out a message to our fans, opposition, and everyone else that we're back in business.

If it doesn't work out, I won't have any moans, I'm sure BR will have done literally, anything we can think of to make this happen.

I can see him going for like 40m within a couple of seasons, if he keeps on improving as he is.

Thought this would happen, he obviously loved it here but like most young players they want to play in the EPL, if given a chance I think he'll do well at City but he'll be back up.
Long way to go in the transfer window and lots can happen, just look at the Ronaldo saga.

And folk saying the board shafted us?:56: * sake its the middle of June, if you really think they will risk short changing Rodgers yer * off your rocker. There will be plenty other options lined up.

Not much has happened since most players will be on holiday or with international teams. Settle doon lads!

Celtic's hopes of signing Patrick Roberts permanently are dealt a blow, with the winger to be given chance to stake claim at Manchester City.

    If anything I'd say that's a boost.

I'm not doubting his ability but I can't see City giving him a frequent place in that team, like Chelsea they're terrible at bringing players through.

I can just picture the scenes now, we're nearing the end of August, after a decent bit of business in the transfer window Rodgers admits he's content with his business. Then on deadline day, breaking news Celtic sign Paddy Roberts just before the deadline. TalkCeltic goes wild. The IRA bring down May's government. Scotland is independent and Ireland is united.

    What a day.

If we did manage to get him I imagine it would be really late in the window, deadline day stuff even, hasn't he/they been saying from the start that he wants to try to play for City, so at the very least he's there for pre-season.

Very unlikely to have anything decided anytime soon, no matter where he ends up.

As long as I see wee Pat the Provo sauntering into Parkhead into KT's arms at some stage this window I'll be pleased.

It's really not. He will stake a claim for the City squad.

A few folk on here scoffed a couple of months back when I suggested he could be as good as or better than the likes of Sterling, Navas, Nolito who were all at City at the time if he was given a proper chance. Still stand by it and if he is to be involved in the City team this season I really hope it's not sparingly because I have absolutely no doubt he would prove himself better than those names mentioned above.

I'd rather he had a crack at getting into a quality side like that, than go out on loan to some pishy side like Bournemouth over us.

I have thought from the beginning that it is probably going to be City or us.

Best thing to do is just assume he is going not get your hopes up then its a bonus if he signs with us.

On a slightly positive note we are favourites to sign him at 9/4 on skybet. Huddersfield 5/2, Nice 4/1 and to stay at man city 5/1. Might not mean much but I'm more inclined to trust bookies odds than random bloggers and "uncles' mate's hairdresser" sources....

There's definitely still hope for this one and as many have said it's early days in the window
