    Certainly more consistent than Forrest.

Everyone saying Hayes isn't needed, etc..etc.. I trust Brendan enough to know he sees something in him and has a plan on where and when he will play and where others will play around him.

Think he'll be a great addition. Great engine, link up play, eye for goal. At least gives us another dimension when we're trying to break down a dogged defence. Hail Hail Johnny Bhoy :shamrock:

    Some people are majorly overreacting.

He's the best player in the SPFL outwith our squad and a big upgrade on GMS. He's not going to be Roberts' replacement.

Just glad this deal looks to finally be coming to an end.

Good backup for Sinclair and Tierney when they need a rest in the smaller games.

A hope some people look back at their reaction to this after Jonny bangs in the goals and assists for us!

    Back up to sinclair. Ok.

    Anything else, waste.

Listening to phone in and they are saying about how his goals/assists are as good for aberdeen as forrest and roberts for celtic.

I hate that comparison. Thats to assume he will do the same at celtic, if not better. To suggest he is as good as roberts.
    Clearly not.

Do we honestly think if it was flipped that forrest or roberts was playing at aberdeen, That they wouldnt have more goals etc?

He's decent, he won't be our best signing of the summer though he's just the first

Squad depth is needed even if we are only in the SPL, Sinclair played 50 games last season and his performance towards the end of the season had slightly dipped Hayes is much better than the other backup options so it's a decent signing, still expect Roberts and another attacking player to be signed

Hopefully he can show that consistency in a Celtic jersey, where the pressure is different.

    My thoughts on the deal.

I think this a purely tactical/plan B signing which as long as we get a few other quality players im fine with.

Sinclair and Roberts are both inside forwards whos first thought is a one on one skill and take it past the defender cut in and shoot. Some SPL teams this season have managed to keep those quiet(on the rare occasion)

I think we are bringing him in with the idea of him and Forrest being available to be out and out wingers as such and hit the byline and cross the ball in the box as a tactical thing for when teams tire in the last 10 minutes or in games where he feels it be more suited to the wingers. I also think both Hayes and Forrest could play as wing backs in a 3-5-2 much more comfortably than Roberts and Sinclair.

On the surface this deal didnt make sense but the more I think about it the more it may make sense.

Must be honest if Brendan signed Stephen Hawking, he'd probably get the best out of him :56: :52:

Celtic and Aberdeen have agreed a deal for the Scottish champions to sign Jonny Hayes, Sky sources understand, and will see Ryan Christie return to Aberdeen on a season-long loan

Great addition, if you don't trust Brendan on this one then you're a special kind of moron.
