@ILoveTheCeltic I think that's what makes their accomplishments so astonishing. Their consistency is incredible. I still think Messi is far superior but for purely goal scoring ability Ronaldo is something else. I'm not sure many players in history have been as consistent as those two. They've dominated the Balon d'Or for a decade at least now.

Going to be so strange when they retire and someone different wins it every year. Paul Pogba has declared an ambition to win it

That is possible regarding Zidane. Considering the titles he won and his beautiful ability when moving with the ball. There's been few as graceful as him.

Thank * we do see a lot of football now, it's such a shame we don't have much footage of the older guys. I'd love to have seen a lot of Brasil in the 50s and 60s plus the Hungarians of the 50s. That Madrid team of the 50/60s must've been incredible too.

But most of all I wish we had footage of McGrory.

    Gascoigne above Henrik :56::68::56:.

Unless of course it's a drinking and pie eating contest.

I haven't looked at it again but the biggest shocker for me was Jinky's position. He should be at least a demi *. Amazing that people still don't recognise how good Larsson was too. I'd have him over Gascoigne and Laudrup. Not Michael Laudrup the Rangers one they funded with the dodgy Murray Mint.

claude makelele is hugely under rated in my opinion, he was an absolute machine in the middle of the park

Guti was one of those strange players who was both incredibely underrated and overrated at the same time. If you asked people he was either a 1 in 10 player or a * world beater.

    Exceptional vision though.

    Grzegorz Lato and Zbigniew Boniek.

Two brilliant players playing for unfancied Poland sides.

Never really played for clubs their talent deserved i don't think. Boniek playing for Juve and winning the European Cup in the latter half of his career and a move to Roma after.

Lato I genuinely don't know but Boniek was a player I'd forgotten about completely.

I'd never seen him, him being in the 80's and that but from what I've heard he is a guy who should be held up there with other great players of that era.

At controlling games I would have Xavi ahead of Zidane, but as others have pointed out two very different types of players.

Think I might have posted his name in here already but I can't be arsed checking.

Roberto Ayala. Brilliant centre half but often doesn't get mentioned with your Cannavaro's, Puyol's etc. Not as good probably but definitely worthy of recognition.

Another one in that kind of bracket is Cordoba at Inter Milan.

Walter Samuel. * rock of a defender.

And my favourite player from that Inter team - Diego Milito.

Just reminiscing about the Serie A in general. That Inter team was something else.

Ayala just popped into my head again though. Reliable performer.

Loads of top defenders back then.
