After watching the Huns last night, I'd say that anyone who thinks all we have to do is turn up and play a nice neat passing game to easily beat the scum needs a sharp infusion of reality!

    Forget how they line up and how they play the game, the facts are as follows;

That mob are extremely well organised, determined and play as a unit.

For all our individual quality, can you honestly say, hand on heart that at the moment we are a stronger team than them?

    I can't!

They're not unbeatable, far from it. But I think the Hun players have the confidence about them we've not had since the days of MON when we steamrollered sides and bullied them into defeat. It's an age old cliche but winning breeds winners and they reek of confidence right now. We can beat them but * me we need some seriously good performances. I hope a few of our players have a gander on the net sometimes to see what fans are saying. I would if I was a player but then I care passionately about the club....just wondering how many of our first team squad could say the same.

There diffence is pretty solid IMO, at this moment im worried the way Celtic is playing and our diffence at times seems very dodgy, but you never know Celtic. :50:

WALTER and ally have installed the feel good factor in them witch was lacking the last 2 years,

they were pish last year and were officially the worst gers team ever, ,i still think there * ,there top of the tree because the celts have got worse and no sight of improvement is likely soon,so its down to luck for us now chaps,,we look more likely to drop pts than them ,at the moment

sad in it,,last year at this point we were 19pts clear and cantering then after milan exit we chucked it and to this day we have still chucked it,, somethings despreatley wrong in paradise and we all know what it is

I wish i had your optimism mate...I think every team know's how Strachan will set out to play.
The knuckle draggers will make it a physical game which we cant cope with, just like they did when Smith was there in his first term and Burns was manager.

Strachan has had 3 attempts at beating Smth and the scores are getting bigger.

Have been saying this from the start of the season. They are a very decent team. They just happen to play a defensive, stodgy way, use physical power etc. They dont have hardly any flair but they are efficient. They are very hard to break down and they are very good at nicking goals. They dont do a lot of fancy football but they are adept at picking the vital pass at the vital moment. They can bully most other teams. History has shown that that often triumps over skill in the SPL. It was a major component in the MON team and in the Rangers 9-in-a-row team. I wouldnt be surprised if they go close to winning the Uefa. Loads of negative teams have done very well in the history of football.

Their spine is much older and experienced than ours. CBS, CM and CF probably have an average age of 30 while v Dundee United ours was probably around 23 (im not sad enough to actually do the maths). They may trump us short term but our team is very young and will get much better in the next season or two if we show patience. It would be great if we did both but I think its probably more important for the clubs future that we qualify for the CL than actually win the SPL. Doing neither would represent a major turn around in finacial fortunes and could tilt the balance for some time.

I think although they are getting results now they actually made a step backwards. with all the old scottish players coming back they are a very aggressive bunch now, a real team. they all fight till the end, that's why they are getting results at the moment. but check out their average age, they won't last forever. and with players like daily or weir etc you don't get any individual football class at all. by buying old warhorses, they buy fighting spirit but no class. instead of developing into a good passing side with modern tactics they are going back in time. it won't go well in the long run. they have like 10 battler and 1 footballer on the pitch now.

we have got the far better individuals, the better players. the problem is we ain't a unit, a team just now.

Not worried in the slightest by their negative football..

History tells us when Sally and Walter have had a big challenge from Celtic and are closing in on the title they lose their collective bottle..

To * with history.. We have beaten them before and we can/will do it again this year..

Its not luck when it happens all the time. They have a system that is hard to watch but works against all but the very top sides. Its Scotland's international system and that brought Scotland very close to qualifying against Itlay, France, Ukraine etc. Its * to watch but it means you can hugely overachieve. If we we a shade better our more footballing style might just have overcome these wattienatio tactics but although we have ball players I am not sure they are good enough or many enough to break down Rangers. Its annoying but MON's teams beat some Rangers sides with a lot more ball players and you do wonder if the strong arm will always triumph in the SPL

A lot of sense there dude. I hope we dont crack and try to copy Wattie. I still think this group of players with a couple more (CB, a midfield general) can with another season under their belts become a very good team and one that wins by skill. I fear if WGS was sacked we would get in some sort of cynical old head that would turn us into hammer throwers. IMO, all this team needs to make it a real side is a dominant CB and a dominant but skillful CM. Get those two players (real quality mind) and that team will shine.

It's not as cut and dried as that Keltoi.. Rangers aren't the only ones using these tactics.. Dundee Utd have resorted to it time and again and Inverness play a game based on that style.. We haven't had trouble breaking either of those teams down this season with regards to creating chances..

It's not as if Rangers have dominated every SPL game they played.. Granted we might have to concede the physical battle to them in some areas (If we play Donati and Naka then we are asking for trouble) but if we set out with our hardest midfield against theirs , and put emphasis on full backs pushing forward , and have Mcdonald and either Samaras or JVOH up front (would rather Samaras) then there's no reason why we can't rip their defence to shreads..
If you can't see a way to beat them then Im not surprised you feel so down about our chances.. We have the players to beat them down each wing.. I think it's vital we play with width and get players beyond their fullbacks.. Vary crosses high and low inside the 18 yard box and we'll get plenty chances.. It's about having the bottle to take them on.. That's where we are relying on Strachan..

i can see us winning 2 and drawing 1 tbh, i wish other teams would try as hard against the huns as they do against us but its been this way for years so cant see it changing anytime soon. i really hate rangers

we need better fluid movement and runnign off the ball. Thats very hard to coach. Thats down to footballing brains. I have some hope. You only get that telepathic running and passing and movement when players realy know each other. The team has chopped and changed a lot so there may be comnsiderable improvement to come over time. Many are still young too. Said it before, its going to be tight this season but we will win next year. hail hail
