Sviatchenko on partnership with Simunovic: “I’ve been in a lot of partnerships throughout my career and this is one of the best.“

always good to hear. The team cohesion has improved significantly especially amongst the defenders & GK which is why Gordons improved.

Who in the * right mind wanted to ship this lad off to Italy in the summer? Seriously, guy was injured and any game time he had looked promising. Thank * he stayed and we have a good solid line of defence now.

Maybe we had a replacement if he was sold.

What an absolute horror show from him. I mean * terrible performance..

Defensively a disgrace. Azeez took the utter pish out of him and his passing was just as bad. Turned, out muscled and bullied every time they broke..

One little break away move was his highlight..

    Brendan'll be raging with him..

Tbh I didn't notice him a whole lot tonight. Had a few miscues at the back, one with Gordon at the touch line in particular. But overall, I didn't think he was so horrible to brand it a terrible performance?

Bit of a bombscare tonight. Almost cost us 2 goals thanks to fannying about at the back.

    Same old decision making problem.

Although I will say his passing has gotten better, tonight aside.

It dozen't work with Lustig beside him. It drags Jozo down. Won't blame him for it.

BRENDAN RODGERS has warned Torino that Celtic are not prepared to sell star stopper Jozo Simunovic.

The Croatian almost signed with the Serie A outfit during the summer only to fail to agree terms but they are expected to come back in next month for a second swoop.

Already this season Simunovic has helped the Hoops keep NINE clean sheets, including last night’s 1-0 win over Partick Thistle at Parkhead.

And speaking after the game, the Celtic boss warned the imposing centre-half remains a big part of his Hoops greenprint into the second half of the season and beyond.

“I think they have probably seen how well he’s been doing,” said Rodgers.

“He’s only a boy really at 22 years of age and developing very, very well. He’s got all the attributes and still has improvements to make of course, but if you’re a top club you would want someone like him.

“He’s very much a part of what we’re building here.”

It wasn’t quite Simunovic’s finest performance in green and white last night as he and radically-altered starting XI looked far from their best against a plucky Jags side that quite easily could have taken something from this encounter.

Yeah happened last time he partnered Lustig he was poor, think Erik brings a calmness and better control from the back which helps Jozo a lot.

Why in his treatment plan is there a stipulation that he cannot play on plastic pitches?
