Aye, fans have praised the wrote him off and twisted and turned on it a good 5/6 times now.

But he's been unable to tie down a place so far and as someone said above McGregor has proved the better squad player. His days could be numbered unless he gets a bit of consistency about him and makes more of a mark when he gets the chance.

Weird that too as at Dundee Utd thats what I liked about him, he was quite Lampard like for them where he got into the box and got good shots away or he hit decent shots from outside the box and scored goals.

Although hes never had a real chance in the attacking mid position for us his shootings been pish as you said, he always seems to scrape the ball wide, I think he panicks to get a shot away too quickly because theres no time or space compared to at Dundee Utd when thered be 2/3 less opposition players near him when he went forward with them.

Just not up to Celtic standard and can't cope with the lack of space and time at our level.

Armstrong shouldn't get any more chances. He's * rank rotten. He played well when he came on (was it against the huns.. can't remember) but apart from that he's not shown anything impressive. He has a * first touch, can't run with the ball at pace, can't pass and he'd give Kayal a run for his money in being * at shooting.

He strikes me as poor man's Johansen, just average at everything, and he's best suited to AMC position. I thought that maybe Armstrong could step into first XI as central midfield, but so far he's been struggling against the likes of Alloa.

He has the ability and potential but his inconsistency even playing through the middle just means he is of no use, ashame but I'd rather Christie, McGregor and Hendo start ahead of him.

If Rogic had Armstrong's fitness, then it would be a perfect player, Armstrong lacks the skills and creativity of Rogic and Rogic lacks fitness.

A spirit would bring more presence on the pitch than Armstrong.

Noticed him getting a hard time in the match thread.

I can't be the only one who though he played well today? He was getting beyond the striker time and again in the first half and showed some lovely interplay at times.

Thought him and Henderson stood out as not being at the same level as everyone else.

Huffed and puffed but produced very little quality.

He's not rubbish, but not really good enough at anything to merit being in the team. A very bland footballer

Tried hard today, but it was obvious there were better players round about him at times. Not sure he'll hold down a starting place in this squad.

Sadly, I think he's just a very good Dundee United player. He'll do well in SPL games here and there but he isn't the quality we should be aiming for if we're looking to be a great side.

Would sell him along with Ciftci in January. He's not going to make it.

Don't think it'll be too difficult to get rid of them, some lower league English mobs can take them.

Hopefully because the squad needs trimmed and the wages saved could get us better in January
