Was pretty mwi at the game so can't remember the ins/outs of it but he made an absolute stunning save last night, it didn't end up mattering because we got a free kick at the edge of the box but * me it was a worldie. Please tell me someone knows that I'm talking about?

Read him saying it was actually too loud for him to communicate with his defence, he shouted "leave it" to Kolo who couldn't hear him 5 ft away :56:

  3. Watched it again few times and it's safe to say that was truly a remarkable instinctive save at the end. His kicking was much better than usual ,as well . Craig Gordon from last night is undoubtedly our number 1 choice GK.

I must be missing something when it comes to goalkeepers as I genuinely just see two categories of ability when it comes to playing the ball with their feet - fine and not fine.

For me, Gordon is fine with the ball at is feet. How well we pass the ball out from the back is more about the ability of our defender and the willingness of the rest of the team to offer options.

I still don't think Gordon is the answer tbh, but for now he's the best option we have.

We need a better starting keeper, no doubt. But for right now De Vries doesn't look like the answer, and Bailly and Fasan don't seem like their getting a look in. Gordon will do until January, or the end of the season if we can't get a keeper in during the January window.

    Good distribution today, IMO.

Claimed a good few crosses as well.

Clear that he's been working on his distribution. Number 1 hopefully from now on...

I was very pleasently surprised at how well he done coming off of his line and collecting cross balls.

Looked like he was trying to do more passing than booting it up the park

Nice to see Brendan praising him in the post-match interview.

I thought he had become a bit of a liability recently but given the sheer mediocrity of De Vries, I'm happy to stick with Gordon for now.

What Gordon is good at - reflex saves and shot-shopping is difficult to learn.

However, his weaknesses - distribution, coming off his line, and positioning can all be worked on.

I think Dundee's weird corner set-ups gave him the space to come off his line. Distrubution very good!

  17. Shut outs always boost a goalie's confidence and mindset. And it is obvious he is working on certain aspects of his game which is another good thing. Pleased for the Big Man that he has come through this storm, and has reinstated himself between the sticks.

Seen him ping a few passes lately, clearly been working on that side of his game.

Don't expect to see De Vries back in the side.

I also thought he looked good today. He didn't have any saves to make, but he looked more comfortable with the ball and seemed more confident coming for the ball.

BRENDAN RODGERS gave special praise to Craig Gordon after Celtic ground out a tough 1-0 win over Dundee.

The Hoops boss hailed his goalkeeper's distribution and composure at Dens Park after he recorded his side's first league clean sheet of the season.

Gordon was replaced last month by new signing Dorus de Vries but has impressed since the Dutchman suffered a chest injury last Saturday.

Rodgers said: "I was delighted with Craig Gordon today and this is what this way of working does, hopefully it improves players.

"I think you saw Craig with his distribution today, how he was composed, calm and came for crosses and defended his goal very well."
