i stand by what i say, if a player is valued at under 750k (TODAY) then he is not Celtic quality and we need a better caliber of player to take us forward.

Always hurts losing a last minute goal but overall we played some good stuff. There is no doubt we have to get a grip at the back as we are conceding far to many sloppy goals. Man City will destroy us if we dont wise up. Sviatchenko was particularly poor today hoping that was a 1 off from him.

 

I think our defence is so poor because we press teams to much, that when they counter that once or twice in a game we just aren't used to defending. CB too far up the park and don't know how to mark in set peices.

Same old mistakes.

 

Lack of a proper defensive midfielder still costing us defensively as it has been for some time.

I think we're close to being a pretty handy side, but until we have some real quality in the middle alongside Brown we'll continue to concede weak goals.

You can't win 38 games in a season so we were going to drop points at some point but the lack of clean sheets and killing off of games is a little worrying, a couple of times we've let teams back into games this season and it was a big weakness under Deila

Result wasn't the end of the world but was disappointing.

It's not a major cause for concern imo, but we are conceding too many goals at the moment and I think it's down to the midfield, there's a lack of cover for our defence.

Onwards and upwards anyhow and hopefully a cleansheet vs Alloa with some fringe players getting a start.

Today happens we didn't play badly and there goalkeeper played a blinder

 

I don't think either of their goals came from a lack of cover in midfield though?

 

Their first one...the guy that passed the ball to King had acres of space. The midfield was nowhere to be seen and two ICT players drifted into the space between our midfield and defence.

Said it a few times this season. Our midfield offers very little protection to our back 4. Brown isn't a defensive player, he has zero discipline when it comes to holding a position. He buzzes about too much. McGregor is a total * who doesn't know what defending is.

 

I can see us shelling out for a box-box CM in January. Continue clearing out some guys and add one or two midfielders.

 

Fair enough mate. To be honest, I just remember it being a good strike.

I think Brown breaks up opposition attacks and play fairly often but I can see where you're coming from. Anything close to a Kayal or Wanyama type of player would fit into the team very well just now.
