    Do you think the club will bring in any unattached players, seems to be a handful of useful players? :shamrock:

    Was looking at these players earlier. Meireles stood out but having read up on time in Turkey, I'm not so sure. Seems to be a bit of a loose cannon and his wages were astronomical while playing there. We should be able to get any of these guys on a decent wage, even if it's only for a season. Sure they would all rather have a few grand a week than nothing.

    Is that belfodil who played for Lyon? Still reasonably young is he not? Would be a better option than ciftci from what I'm aware of.

    I think we were crying out for a defensive midfielder during that transfer window.

    Would never have went for him before, but if we could get Flamini in now, I'd be happy with that.

    I think we could get him, 32 years old probably got 2 years left in him at least, gets to pick up some winners medals and another chance to play some champions league football.

    Yeah, there's quite a few decent players kicking about. Mathieu Flamini and Sulley Muntari are the two I think would do a good job of bringing some quality to our midfield, two guys who are very adept at a holding role where they break up play. Some other interesting names that are free agents:

    Stephane Sessegnon
    Juan Vargas
    Modibo Maiga
    Kevin Constant
    Mohamed Sissoko
    Antonio Di Natale (thought he would have retired)
    Alex (centre-back who played for Chelsea, PSG, AC Milan)
    Mervan Celik :fear:

    Also Zakaria Labyad was literally just released from Sporting Lisbon a few hours ago. He would be quality.

    Meireles and flamini would walk into our midfield, I'd have either of them in a heartbeat and can't see the downside if it's a short term deal, they both have tremendous experience in the game.

    I'd also take the boy Laybad in a heartbeat, he's full of talent although I'm not too sure what's happened to him recently.

    I thought Di Natale was absolute class, but at 38, probably way too old for a luxury like that and attack wise we're sorted. But what a player he was.

    Only player from that list which would strengthen us instantly is Flamini. I think he's had a career of being criminally under rated even though he's played for a lot of good clubs.

    Problem with him is his biochemical company is absolutely flying, does he have the desire for football anymore?
