Simunovic has played about 15 games for us and tbh he looked a decent player but showed nothing to shout about. For us to get our money back with the chance to get someone in that can play a full season with similar or better quality is a no brainer.
As for johansen he didnt hit the hights of his second season and didnt look like he wanted to be here. For us to get 2 million for him with a year keft on his contract is good business.
They wernt bad players but for and excess of £5 million transfer revenue thats a result.
The board now need to back the manager with a few quality signings, not asking for a £10 million just to put there money where there mouth is.

I am delighted with the business we've done so far and I expect at least a couple more to follow by close tomorrow. I cant see Brendo being hung out to dry.

Simunovic deserved a chance to show what he could do, IMO.

Came here with a bad injury, was played through it, aggravated it, then as a result was out for a while.

I'm not arsed about getting the money back for him unless it is re-invested into the side. Time will tell on that one but I won't hold my breath.

We better hope Sviatchenko or Toure don't pick up major injuries.

Think Brendan would be happy to give him a chance but a bid has come in and a decision has been made.

I genuinely think we're a cm or 2 short of being a quality side. We really need to strengthen in the middle though, if we don't we're gonna be cannon fodder for Barca and Man City.

Striker, 2 midfielders, 2 centre mids and a quality keeper.
6 short now. Being a bit extreme, but we need more.

I agree I can't see us losing the league too. I'd put it on a par with Leicester winning the EPL

This window is, so far, a huge success.

We've vastly improved the first-team and moved out some of the 'deadwood'.

There's still a lot of work to be done, but Rodgers has reshaped the squad, qualified for the Champions League and made a 100% start to the domestic season within a matter of months. That's incredible going.

If we sign a quality central midfield player and move on a few more players before the deadline, that will be the cherry on top.
I think with the business we've done, plus the Champions League money we've made, we can afford to sign a few more.

The last two times we qualified for the Champions League, we signed several players on deadline day, so I'm sure we'll make some more moves before the week is out.

More players will come and go in January, and in the Summer we'll start to see Rodgers' team really taking shape.

    Exciting times.

    I know.

I agree with your main points, though. Our board are not proactive. It's a real shame that we do 'just enough'.

I'm expecting another signing. Whether it is a marquee signing or not is neither here nor there.

We need a midfielder and I trust Brendan to bring in exactly what he needs.

If we get no one then well...

The board are probably thinking that the job is done for this season in many ways, seeing that we now have champions league (huge capital injection). They know that none of the other * can challenge us in the league as our squad is far superior compared to anything out there.

They also have the New Balance, Dafabet and no doubt restructured Magners deal alongside the ICC money, season ticket sales are also up from recent years. Not sure if they will want to spend big by bringing in a highly regarded player or another a DM and CB which most of the fans want even though we seem to have the resources to do so.

Celtic's total in and outs summer 2016/17 (including loans and frees):

    In - 7 players (£5.8m spent)
    Out - 22 players (£6.6m received)

So we still have a decent budget to get some quality players in, tbh for me personally I think we only need a decent midfielder in. Defence has looked less shaky recently despite still leaking goals, but I think that's more down to concentration than ability.

Still love this thread title though :smiley-laughing002:

    Johansen
    Scepovic
    CKR
